The Hawks Nest 29 "M-22" condo is located on a very quiet and private association drive adjacent to the ski hill within the Homestead Resort, a natural retreat from everyday life. Located in the middle of the 71,000 acre Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore which includes 65 miles of pristine beaches. A place of extraordinary and breathtaking beauty suited perfectly for hiking, bicycling, paddle sports, swimming, boating, fishing, skiing and snowboarding.

Two comfortable bedrooms, two full baths one on each level, and two large screened in decks with forest and lake views and the sound of waves on the beach help to make this a unique place to spend your vacation, creating family memories or enjoying a quiet getaway with someone special.

The home was recently fully remodeled by new owners and has a Chip and Joanna Gaines flair/industrial feel, with the unique M-22 vibe.

This is a ski-out location to the Homestead ski resort and includes an outdoor storage closet for skies.

The master bedroom has a comfortable new king bed and offers peaceful forest views. The guest bedroom offers a large new full bed and a set of bunk-beds, offering wooded views.

The Homestead village is a short walk away and includes a fitness center, deli, restaurant, and SPA.

Conveniently located close to dining, shopping and recreational facilities in Glen Arbor. The Bay View and Heritage trails connect to the resort within walking distance of this condo allowing access to miles of beautiful, wooded trails for hiking, biking, running, and cross-country skiing. These trails also connect to some of the wilderness beaches on Lake Michigan within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Glen Arbor has several dining opportunities including Blu, Art's Tavern, Western Avenue Tavern, and Boone Docks with summer nightly music on their deck. Two additional restaurants across Big Glen Lake are Funistrada and La Becasse.

Many favorite destinations within the park are a short drive away both north and south along M-22 and the M-22 Hawks Condo is close to the quaint towns of Leland, Northport, and Suttons Bay that offer shopping, craft beer breweries and many local wineries.

A stay at this condo will give wonderful lasting memories and will encourage you to make a return visit.

The home is full of games and little odds and ends for children and a packable high chair. A "home away from home".

About Bob Ashmun

Connie and her family purchased this home to have a place to go on occasion and to use in addition to their condo at the Wilderness Association in the Homestead. The home is meant to be a home away from home.

It is unique in that it is the only M22 Hawks Nest condo in the Homestead, with the feel of the M22 vibe and culture.

When she bought this home it was a true passion of hers to make it a place for people to get away from it all and to enjoy the beauty of this area.

Her family welcomes you to their condo.

Why Bob Ashmun chose Glen Arbor

The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is one of the most beautiful areas in the country with its 65 miles of undeveloped sand beaches, lined by towering dunes and bluffs, numerous small clear lakes, lush thick forests and rolling hills, and two off-shore islands, one with a restored lighthouse. The park also includes US Life-saving Service stations, coastal villages and winding roads through picturesque farmsteads. The forests includes hardwood and conifer forest types, abandoned farm meadows, wetlands, streams, and bogs and examples of glacially caused landforms. This is a place where lifetime memories are created for all ages and interests with outdoor recreation, vineyard touring, shopping, dining, relaxing.

The area is rich with the park's maritime, agricultural and recreational history.

This condo is one-of-a-kind at the Homestead Resort, a great location for a central base for your exploration of all the county has to offer. The condo will provide a very comfortable retreat from the activities of your visit.

A definite must see, must stay type of place, a standout home compared to the others in the area. The two walkout screened in balconies will make your stay even more relaxing, the upper balcony offers seating for four and the lower deck offers seating for six.

Games and unique features are there for children to play with during their stay, and a variety of games and books for adults are also included.

TV's are located in the living room and both bedrooms.

What makes this condo unique

Secluded and quiet, a retreat from the world. Close to the national park beaches and and dining of Glen Arbor. Golf, skiing, shopping, bike trails, and miles of hiking available.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Cheryl, says she was totally in love with the M-22 Hawk's Nest Condo #29.

The bed was dreamy and comfy, the homes unique design and interior has so much to offer. The wood burning stove was so cozy and the blower heated up the place, no thermostat was turned up due to the heat generated by the wonderful fireplace with the large glass viewing window.

It's setting is perfect look outside to see the deer in the back, and Lake Michigan views. Look out the front door see the skiers going downhill, hop on. to ski down!! It's a beautiful home just minutes away from Glen Arbor. ARTS TAVERN is a must on the trip!

Thank you for the wonderful stay in this beautiful home. This is a MUST see home! It has e everything one would need, a home away from home!!

Thanks again

Would rate this home a five star out of 4!!

Hawks nest #29 is a great place for a weekend getaway in lovely glen arbor. The decor is awesome. We loved the white Adirondack chairs on the patio and all the M22 decorations. Glen Arbor is such a wonderful town. We enjoyed every minute of it and were happy to have a great place to stay. The owner was always available if needed and super kind. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We love Glen Arbor and the area, but this condo is VERY small. Would not recommend.

  • 1 of 5

We love the area, but would not recommend this condo. It is VERY small, very dark and wooded, NO LAKE VIEW, no lake or beach access, and NO WASHER/DRYER. Beds are very old, lumpy, and uncomfortable. Since there is no laundry, I would recommend bringing your own linens. Unless you use the same towel for a whole week without washing. There were only 4 bath towels for a unit that sleeps 6 and rents for the week with no laundry. Upon our return, we were accused of “damaging” the towels which were faded when we arrived. The owner replaced for $12 (if that tells the quality) and took it out of our deposit. Very bad experience. Would not recommend.

Owner's Response: The condo does have lake access through the Homestead resort and several other beautiful access points in the National Park within a few miles of the condo. It is common for many of the smaller condo units in this association to not have laundry facilities and there are always 6 sets of fresh towels ready for guests checking in. This condo does not advertise laundry services. The beds, mattresses, and all linens/towels were new in March of 2018, there have been no previous complaints of the beds being lumpy or uncomfortable. The renter never called to complain about "stained" towels, it was not until the day she checked out and I asked in an email if she had any idea about the stains that she said she was very frustrated and disappointed about the towels when she checked in. A call at that time would have totally resolved this situation. New towels would have been delivered immediately, management is very attentive to any and all questions and inquiries. The house keeper has been with this unit from the start, there has not been a single issue in any of her work. The owner replaced only the towels damaged and found new towels 50% off to keep the charge against the renter as reasonably as possible.

a tree house

  • 3 of 5

Condo itself was very nice. Clean and well decorated. The manager was very helpful and available. I rated it a 3 because of of what it did not have. There was no easy accessable access to the beach. There was no washer or dryer. The property was located on the homestead, but you did not have access to any of the homestead amenities. You could not purchase a day pass to these amenities. The condo was in the woods, so there was less natural light. If you do not need or want any of these features in your rental, then it is a perfect spot. Everything else about the rental was really nice.

Absolutely gorgeous and well stocked home!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the best time here! The location was perfect to go to Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, day trip to Leland and Sutton’s Bay, and hanging out in Glen Arbor. I enjoyed drinking my coffee each morning on the enclosed porch. The place was well stocked to make our stay extremely comfortable. We WILL be back! Thanks!
