Come enjoy our comfortable spacious log cabin with vaulted ceilings, 2 big bedrooms, and one oversized bathroom with heated floor nestled up on two private acres and surrounded by uninhabitated acreage on 3 sides. If you are looking for a rustic get away with all of the comforts of home this is it! Our views are pretty spectacular! We face south and get lots of sun and can enjoy overlooking the valley and Indian Mountain.
Hoof Retreat has a full covered front porch, hot tub, horse shoe pit, custom ski lift chair swing, fire pit, 65 inch tv, beautiful bath with heated slate floors. Although the cabin has two bedrooms we are limiting the accommodations to 2 people - two queen sized beds and a bunk bed. Simply stunning and decorated to feel like you are on a mountain vacation.
Pets are welcome with an non refundable additional deposit - there is a fenced back yard to keep them in and critters out.
Fully stocked with everything you will need - Just bring your toothbrush!
PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide Wi-fi at the cabin. The only carrier was Dish Network and the Wi-fi rarely worked so we cancelled it. AT&T and Verizon work great there on our cell phones and Ipads though.

About Jules Brownell
We have had the pleasure of renting out several second homes/cabins in the past in areas like Big Bear and Palm Desert, California,, Strawberry and Sedona, Arizona and have decided to rent our our place here in Colorado for the first time! Enjoy, Jules and George
Jules Brownell purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Jules Brownell chose Stagetop
We looked for over 6 months before purchasing this cabin! We fell in love with it the moment we drove in the driveway. It sits on a protected area surrounded by trees and has beautiful views across the valley and sunsets over the rise. We added our extra personal touches and really enjoy it whenever we can too!
What makes this Cabin unique
All on one level, no steep roads to get to it (they are plowed during snow season), faces south and doesn't get windy, and the views are spectacular. It is on a low traffic road so you can safely go for walks.

We loved the cabin and area. The view is amazing! So peaceful. The cabin has everything you need to get away from the Rat Race.
Thank you for the wonderful positive response! We are glad you loved our cabin (we do too!) and hope you come stay again soon.
Amazing spot. Really great place to get away from it all. Jules is an excellent and responsive host. I highly recommend the hoof retreat.
Thank you so much! I am very glad you enjoyed our cabin! Hope you come back again soon.
We had a really good time. The cabin was very well equipped, they even left candy and all we needed for our stay. Beautiful views, large open space. Big tv. Amazing wood stove.
The very bad side was that it smelled horrible, the whole cabin smelled like sewer ALL THE TIME. It seems that they are having problems with their pipe lines, because the smell was very strong and horrible like that of toilet sewer smell. The hot tub was nice, however the water was very dirty. Towels in the bathroom smelled very bad as well. Other than that, it was a great weekend. Very cool cabin with a lot of nice little details a decorations inside and outside.
Occassionally our well water will have an egg/sulfur smell. It doesn't normally last long or smell that strong. I am sorry that it was an inconvenience for you. It was definitely not our septic - we stay on top of that.
We try to keep our place spotless and although the water may smell once in a while, it is safe to use (we have it tested regularly).
None of our other guests have mentioned the smell and we have been renting it out a lot. Once again, my apologies.
Thank you for your other nice comments.
Great Cabin Getaway
My SO and I spent a long weekend here and absolutely loved it. Perfect size for a small family or couple. The hot tub was really enjoyable as well as the rest of the amenities of the property. I would absolutely go back again.
A real gem!! Privacy and incredible amenities and views!
Wow! What a great home away cabin! We were so surprised by all the little thoughts and touches this place has. From the outdoor acreage, fire pit, pro horse shoe pits, a unique skiing chair swing, and sweeping views! Lots of aspens, and a great covered deck with Adirondack chairs, a nice grill, and fenced in to protect your dogs or little ones from falling. A nice 2 person private hot tub is just steps away from the deck. Plenty of cut wood for the wood stove (nice big one too), and nice solar lighting for a night stroll. Very well thought out back fenced in area for the dogs to roam.
Inside, a well layed out open area with a nice L shaped island, upscale furniture, and plenty of seating. Nice lighting (ask about the rope lights!), and great overall decor. Big refrigerator, nice thermal stove, deep sinks, and plenty of plates and cooking utensils. Two large, nicely appointed bedrooms with sleep number beds, high end bedding, and even fans for you sleep creatures that need that noise :) the slate bathroom is large, and the heated floor makes morning visits more welcoming. For music lovers, they even thought it through with a audio connection at the island for plugging into the receiver and speakers.
Oh the views! Oversized windows throughout give you a real feel of bringing the outdoors inside.
Their is really no deterrents from making this getaway cabin a place to explore and experience!
Cheers to the owners for being so great with communicating and helping us out of a crazy situation... We knew of the impending winter storm coming, and on our last morning, decided to head out. Big mistake! We got stuck a mile away from the cabin... Raging blizzard, 8 degrees outside. We could either walk back with our dogs, (we had no phone signal) or hope a neighbor was home and could help. Sure enough, I walked to the nearest cabin, and an incredible French speaking man offered to help. And when I say help - wow! He comes down the hill with a diesel front loader! Scrapes the road right down to the dirt and ushers us all the way back to the cabin! He even did the driveway! Believe in angels, they exist! The owners let us stay another night, and made sure the roads and driveway were clear for us the next day. Can't say enough about Jules and George for being able to help, and be so responsive! WE WILL BE BACK!
