Comfort, Relaxation, Convenient

  • 5 of 5

This cottage ranks as the best that I've rented in the area through many visits through the years. It was the most relaxing vacation we've ever taken. The reviews gave me a good idea of what to expect but I was still surprised to find appliances that ranked with what we have at home making it a true "home away". The decor is replete with Adirondack touches. Plenty of dishes and utensils, comfortable beds and living room furniture, multiple places to sit and enjoy the view, games, videos, books are available. The lake is a quiet lake that you can enjoy with the provided canoe and kayak (minimal boat traffic). Fishing is great from the dock and there are multiple outside seating areas to enjoy the view. If you don't want to cook, there are many good restaurants close by. The bike trail to Lake George is nearby and provides a shady wilderness ride to the village of Lake George. You can also travel south on the bike trail to Glens Falls and the Feeder Canal multi-use trail. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes their comfort while still wanting to feel like they are "in the woods". The owners live next door and are available for recommendations if you need them but aren't intrusive during your visit.

Just the best location and lovely home. Perfectly clean and well kept. All the extras!

  • 5 of 5

Sandy kept the home well stocked--no need to buy that salt! Very clean TV worked great with all the channels -strong WiFi. Lovely outside right on the water with beautiful sunset views on the water. Great location close to everything a family or couple would look for.. I hope I have the opportunity to stay here again. Folks, this place has it all!!!!

Quiet, rustic, and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our time at Sandy and Don's cabin was incredibly relaxing. This was the first time my wife and I had rented a cabin, but it certainly won't be our last. The cabin was fully stocked with all of the amenities you could ask for. Despite being seemingly tucked away from the world, we were never more than a 10 minute drive from any place we wanted to go. The view from the boat dock is astounding and was an exceptional place to have a quiet cup of coffee (at least as quiet as could be with a rambunctious 1 year old). We did have two wasps sneak their way into the cabin, but that's hardly anyone's fault. I look forward to coming back in a few years when my son is a bit more ready to enjoy himself on the lake.

Be sure to hit Gambles Bakery for breakfast - it's not too far from the cabin and the food was delicious.

Cozy Cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here for a week. It is such a comfortable cozy cottage equipped with everything you need. We enjoyed the hot tub, the boat house deck with stunning views of the lake, watching the Osprey fish for food, kayaking, canoeing and riding our motorcycle throughout the Adirondack mountains. The beds are comfortable and the cottage is clean and full of Sandy's touches throughout. Sandy and Don are great people who gave us some great ideas on where to go. We sure hope to visit again soon! Thank you Sandy and Don!

Loved It

  • 5 of 5

My kids and I stayed there and could not have had a better experience. It was beautiful and clean. What I will remember most, though, is the hospitality of the owners, Sandy and Don. They went above and beyond, from making sure my kids knew where the ospreys were, to driving halfway around the lake to help me launch my boat. I won't forget it, and look forward to returning every year.

Fun & Relaxation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth visit to Sandy and Don's cottage at Glen Lake, and we were, once again, not disappointed! The first time we spent a week at the lake, our three boys were younger, but even as college grads they had a great time this year swimming, kayaking and fishing. The cottage is cozy and comfortable, with all the amenities (including wireless internet--a must for the whole family these days!). There's lots to do in the area (Lake George is just a hop, skip and a jump away) but our favorite moments were sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, watching the osprey soar through the sky. This is a fantastic place for a vacation, whether you're looking to "chill" and relax, or wanting to hike, boat, fish or swim--we only wish we could get there more often! No need to go to a crowded resort when you can enjoy nature, family, and fun at Glen Lake!
