Rimrock Lodge provides a majestic Montana retreat where discretion is paramount and you can find rest for your mind, body and spirit. This 3,000 sq. ft home is situated on 2 acres just outside of Great Falls, MT (7 miles to town) in an exclusive upscale community, with mountainous landscape and a stunning view of the Missouri River just across the street.
Upstairs you will find a Master Suite with a wireless remote adjustable King size bed, TV, and large bathroom with a travertine shower and jetted jacuzzi tub; plus a Queen bedroom (Red Room) with a full bathroom and a desk for catching up on work, if you must. On the top floor you will find a cozy seating area with TV and gas fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen with all of the comforts of home; including microwave, Kuerig, crock pot, cookbooks, fully stocked with cookware, utensils and walk-in pantry. This amazing kitchen/living area features circle-sawn fir floors, 22' timber beam ceilings, maple cabinets, butcher block counter tops, and expansive windows with a view that will make your jaw drop.
Downstairs in the walk-out basement you will find a Media/Family room with a 120” movie screen, comfy lounge seating, a wet bar, wine fridge, microwave and dishwasher. There is a downstairs Master Suite with a Queen size bed and a private bathroom and a fourth Queen size bedroom with a bathroom in the hall. There is also an air mattress for an additional person if you need more sleeping accommodations. There is a beer tap and if you are going to be here for a while we can help you get the keg filled with some fantastic local Montana brew, for an additional fee. There is plenty of parking space for multiple cars, an RV or boat.
This home is extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, clean and very cozy, with lots of natural light and plenty of rustic Montana charm. The mattresses and linens are high thread count, always fresh and very comfy. There are 4 TV's in the house equipped with Dish Network and Alexa (220 channels), Internet and a Verizon Network Extender; but I will warn you that if you overload it streaming videos, etc it can be slow because we are out in the country. You will find all of the comforts of home and we are confident you will find this vacation rental to be very comfortable. We are on a well and septic system so we do ask that you please be very gentle to not abuse this highly sensitive system (ie: do not flush anything except toilet tissue - no kleenex, makeup or baby wipes, paper towels, etc.)
This is a dog friendly property in a very secluded private neighborhood with all kinds of wildlife in the yard; including friendly deer, bunnies, bald eagles, rock chucks, prairie dogs, ducks, geese, wild turkeys, gorgeous birds; and, full disclosure, there are snakes in the summertime…it’s the country. There is a 1½ mile or 3 mile walking or biking trail and you can hike, fish, kayak, float or paddle board right across the street. There is so much to do without ever leaving the house. If you need some downtime you can lay in a hammock and watch the bunnies play in the yard, smoke a cigar on the patio, have a drink while watching the sunset, have coffee on the deck, cook out on the grill or smoke a brisket in the smoker and create great family memories. (No Smoking inside - on the patio only please.) There is also a game cabinet with lots of fun games, cards, coloring books, etc.
This home provides the serenity you have been looking for in your Montana retreat. The sunrise, sunset and zillions of stars in the Big Sky will make you feel like you're in heaven. The views from the upstairs deck or downstairs patio are peaceful and serene, a perfect setting for coffee, cocktails, a good book, or prayer and meditation.
Just 15 minutes away, in Great Falls, there is always something fun to do with a great deal of history, including:
-- The world famous Sip n’ Dip mermaid lounge
-- The Charlie Russell Museum
-- A huge western art community
-- Rodeos & concerts (depending on the time of the year)
-- The Great Falls Symphony
-- Local craft breweries
-- The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
-- Giant Springs State Park and the fish hatchery
-- Take a walk or bike ride along Rivers Edge Trail
-- Of course you have to see the Great Falls of the Missouri River
Great Falls is in Central Montana and within a couple of hours you can see some of the most amazing beauty you will find anywhere in the world. You can make this your home base for your perfect Montana vacation. There’s too much to mention, but my favorite excursions include...
-- Take an Amtrak train ride through Glacier National Park - 2.5 hours to East Glacier and 3.5 to West Glacier (by car)
-- On your way through Glacier don't forget to stop at the Izaak Walton Inn for some awesome food and see the Rail Cars.
-- If you go to Glacier, you might want to book an overnight stay to include a visit to White Fish Lake, Kalispell, the sweet sleepy little town of Bigfork for some excellent boutique and art shopping, Flathead Lake and the Cherry orchards, and then a stop in Missoula on the way back for a beer at Big Sky Brewery. It's a gorgeous drive as you pass through the Continental Divide, the Rocky Mountain Range, and numerous National Parks.
-- Showdown Ski Resort is about a 1-1/2 hour drive and makes a fun day trip
-- Take a great day trip through the Lewis & Clark National Forest to hear from the locals at Bar 47 in White Sulphur Springs about how copper mining got started here, or make a stop at the Harvest Moon Brewery in Belt, MT.
-- Fort Benton was once a hot spot and is recognized as the birthplace of Montana. You can’t miss a day trip to see this quaint little town. Don't forget to stop for dinner at the Grand Union Hotel
-- My absolute favorite is a drive to Craig, Wolf Creek, Holter Lake and the Gates of the Mountain boat tour. The drive is one hour of the most beautiful scenery you may ever witness. This fly fishing capital of the world will have you in awe.
-- If you want to go fly fishing we can hook you up with a guide and gear. There is a local fly fishing guide right in our neighborhood that can show you the ropes and then you can try your hand at it or just go to Isaak's in Craig, MT where you can get the best walleye fish and chips you will ever eat.
-- Just an hour away is the Helena, the capital of Montana, nestled in the mountainside and where you can find some great shopping and dining.
-- First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park & Interpretive Center is 30 minutes
-- Fairmount Hot Springs, Anaconda MT is less than 3 hours away
-- We are 4 hours from Yellowstone National Park
We hope you enjoy your stay in our Montana retreat home and we are happy to help you with anything that will make your stay comfortable, memorable and the best family vacation you have ever experienced. Sincerely, Carrie & Adolfo
