This in-town suite is the entire lower floor of our home with a gorgeous mountain view and entrance through a private patio. On-street parking is available with a private sidewalk to the suite.

This rental is suitable for up to two couples with a king-size bed in the bedroom and a futon in the living room. A table with seating for four is also in the living area. Other amenities include a frig, toaster oven and microwave, coffee maker and cup, plates and dinner ware.

Walk to shops, restaurants, and breweries in Biltmore Village. Ideally located only minutes to Biltmore Estate, the River Arts District, Downtown, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.

The neighborhood is great for a quiet, exploratory stroll, and Asheville is a mecca for cyclists, rock climbers, hikers, and river boaters. The owners are avid cyclists and hikers and can recommend a wide variety of road and mountain biking opportunities, as well as lots of interesting mountain-view and waterfall hikes.

About Pat Katz

I am a retired landscape architect and I love gardening, the outdoors, walks through the neighborhood and cooking. My husband works at home as a technical writer, but his passion is riding bicycles and travel. We have a son who is a web designer in San Francisco. Our daughter, 22, lives with us and works as a server at local country club. We have one dog, Bojangles, and three old cats.

Why Pat Katz chose Kenilworth

We moved from Atlanta two years ago, and love living in the mountains! Our best friends live in Sylva, and after years of visiting them, we made the move. We love camping, hiking, and living in a small city. Our neighborhood dates to the 1920's and has an eclectic mix of bungalows, craftsmen and newer houses. Our house is only 3 years old, and green built, on a steep slope that overlooks the Biltmore Village and Blue Ridge beyond.

What makes this House unique

The mountain view is what sold us on this house. Second is the location. We are less than two miles to downtown. Biltmore Village is a 15 minute walk, and the entrance to the Biltmore Estate is less than a mile away. My husband rides his ten-speed bike 3-4 times weekly, and he loves being able to ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway as part of his 18 mile route. We are still exploring hiking and waterfall trails.

The floor is polished concrete with rugs which can be rolled up if needed. The bathroom has grab-bars for toilet and shower, but is not wide enough for a wheelchair to turn around.

                                                          Mountain getaway with modern conveniences

                                                          This was the perfect time to get away from the Lowcountry - mid April everything that can bloom is blooming and the surroundings are beyond beautiful.

                                                          This gorgeous mountaintop retreat literally perches on the top of the hill - you get to the top of the windy road and there it is! You have your own easy entrance to the lower level, your own electronic key entree code, it is private, quiet with absolutely stunning views. Even though the neighbors' houses are close by - no one has any large windows on the sides of the buildings so no one is looking in or down on you.

                                                          The unit itself has a concrete floor with some rugs, the king bed is so cozy you won't want to get out of it, plenty of extra linens, blankets, and light blocking blinds in the bedroom. Living room has a small kitchenette that has a coffee maker, a margarita maker - i.e. blender, small fridge, and a toaster oven. A comfy futon you can lounge on and watch TV if you want. The owners have pets but none of them ever come downstairs so if you have allergies there is nothing to worry about, my husband is deathly allergic to cats and had no problems whatsoever.

                                                          Every now and then you hear a distant train whistle, but you are so high up it is really ambient and literally seems like a world below.

                                                          Here you are centrally located to everything - the Biltmore, the NC wildlife center (which I strongly recommend for kids of all ages) - amazing restaurants, fast food, gym, actual exercise like hiking in the most beautiful settings all over, rafting, boating, cycling, mountain biking, shopping, beer tasting or just getting lost in the hills - it is all at your fingertips as you descend down the windy road from the house.

                                                          The owners are really friendly and super down to earth who will either stay away or have a friendly chat, depending on your preference, very respectful and thoughtful – after they found out we were coming with our 6 y/o daughter there were even extra kids games, dolls and a vintage rotary toy phone.

                                                          And the very best part - when you come back from hiking or a long day out on the mountains - you have a fully stocked en-suite bathroom with hot water on demand, plenty of soft towels, and an outside fire place right off the patio in front of which you can either drink coffee in the morning looking at the Blue Ridge and/or wine at night. We will be coming back for sure. The small little gold fish pond in front of the patio puts the cherry on top of it all.

                                                          This was a great find! Convenient location and minutes away to the Biltmore, Biltmore village, and downtown. This is a beautifully finished basement of a house with a private entrance. You'll occasionally hear the host family in the upstairs, but it's a fairly quiet and private space that you will have to yourself. The hosts were very considerate and had all the amenities you could need. The neighborhood is on a hill, offering great views of Asheville. You have access to private patio that even has a fire pit! If it hadn't been raining all weekend, we would have definitely taken advantage of it. Street parallel parking is available, and Ubers are always nearby and can easily find the house. Will absolutely recommend to friends planning a visit to Asheville in the future.

                                                          Separate entrance and full floor occupancy makes this place seem like your own. Very clean. Beautiful Mountain View. You can see the sun rise from where you sleep. Close to major highways. You can walk to Biltmore village. . I’ll stay here again.

                                                          Visit the Biltmore Estate! Get a 10% discount if you purchase your ticket on line at least 7 days in advance. Start early by spending 2-3 hours touring the house. Have lunch in the courtyard, then walk through the gardens down to Bass Pond. Return to your car and drive to the Deer Park area. Visit petting barn, walk the trails, and end with a tasting at the winery. Maybe dinner at the Bistro or Cedrics.
