Very nice place with all comforts and great owner
We had great time there, living in a very nice fournished big house, drinking a beer around the swimming pool at the sunset and using the barbecue for dinner. Kostas was truely welcoming: best owner ever!
Beautiful Villas and very friendly owner
We, a family of 4, stayed at Diktamos Villas in Villa Ammos for 2 weeks in July 2017. We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed both the house and the surroundings very much. Both the garden, the pool area and the house is very beautiful decorated and the house is fully equipped. The owner Mr. Kostas is very helpful and pleasant. Mr. Kostas wife has a seafood restaurant in the old venetian habour in Rethymno it is really worth a visit. Rethymno with all its shops, restaurants and bars is only a short drive away. We had dinner in Rethymno 6-7 nights and then went back to the villa and enjoyed a drink in the peaceful and quiet surroundings before bedtime.
The Villas are located in Atsipopoulo Village very close to the old part of the town, which is very charming and picturesque. We had dinner at two restaurants in the village, Ta Souvlakia tou Gagani by the church and O Manolis at the town square both places are really worth a visit and is also visited by the greeks.
Diktamos Villas is perfect if you wish to enjoy Crete away from the very touristy places but still close to Rethymnon and with the possibility of reaching all the sightseeing must-sees and also experience the “real” Crete. Diktamos Villas is the best place we have stayed in Crete.
Lovely Villas in an excellent location
We rented two of the Diktamos villas for two weeks during August'16.
We arrived at night and were pleasantly suprised by the owner who was not only ready to help us navigate the village roads (unnecesary as the GPS info is spot on), but also greeted us with a dish cointaining produce from his own garden (truly delicious)
The villas are very clean and well maintained, with fresh sheets every 3 days, they have lovely terraces to enjoy an evening drink/read/ or whatever one might like)
The owner is very friendly and helpful - he recommended a large set of interesting beaches and locations that we could visit.
The pool is clean and kept that way with a minimum of chemicals, shallow throughout (about 120cm?) whicht is excellent for smaller kids to enjoy and/or learn some swimming.
Location is 10m from Rethymno which is our favourite Cretan city, it was very easy to drive for dinner, there are some nice beaches 10m drive away, but we preferred Beaches in Bali 30mins away, (you still need to have a car for either...), also there is a wonderful restaurant in the village square - I recommend it especially on a Sunday evening, when it seems that the whole village comes out to eat under the stars.
In summary, throughout the years I have rented a bunch of villas in crete and this one provided one of the most enjoyable experiences.
Kindness, cleanliness and care apartments.
The houses are located in Atsipopoulo a village 5 minutes drive from rethynmo. A car is needed to move but if you go to clay you have to turn in the car. I had the house "villa 4" but I also saw the other. All well appointed and spotless. Kostas the owner is always helpful and friendly, gave us all oil, vegetables, feta ecc.Insomma recommend
Diktamos villas are built almost in the centre of Northern Crete in Atsipopoulo village, 5 km from Rethymno city.
The village of Atsipopoulo is strategically placed and therefore it has seen many battles against the Turks. The houses are closely built to each other and are easily converted to a fortress in times of need. The residents realized the architectural value of their homes and respected and up kept them. In this way Atsipopoulo today upholds the traditional look and sophistication of Venetian years. Its neighbourhoods, its churches and spellbinding alleys will charm the visitor. Walking through the side streets they will find themselves under Venetian galleries and arches.
