Nice base camp for sledding
House worked well, plenty of room. Loved the fireplace. 1/2 block from trail!
What a perfect place for us
This property was right on trail 3 and everything was as advertised. We had zero issues and plenty of great times. We could ride our sleds directly from the front door plenty of room for the 4 of us and next time we’ll probably bring 6. Property owner was easy to get ahold of and the place was spotless on our arrival. Thinking about bringing my wife and girls up during the summer.
Bottom line: pictures are exactly what you get, plenty of room and very clean comfortable accommodations. Will Definitely rent again!
Great Layout for 6 people on our snowmobile trip
this house was a perfect setup for our snowmobile trip we went on in February. House was plenty big enough for the six of us. Everything was very clean and well kept. There is a natural gas furnace which kept the house nice and warm and a wood stove in the common room that was a nice way to dry our gear out ever night. Also the owner answered the phone every time I called or texted him before and during the trip. Also the cleaning lady/handy lady lives in the same area and was available if we needed anything during our stay. The only draw back of our stay was that there is not much for food or drinks in the painsdale/south range area. Whatever you do, do not go to the village pub in south range, go to the VFW which is open to the public!
Rustic country house
It was a rustic country house, but for 4 guys on a sledding trip it was perfect. Nice full kitchen, cable TV, wifi and the beds were really comfortable. A main sledding trail was about 300 hundred yards away. Only a 15 minute sled ride to downtown Houghton/Hancock area.
Great place to stay close to the trail good beds warm and dry
The place is great, the kitchens and bathroom seems like they were just remodeled. All the beds seem new, plenty of hot water and the place had no problem getting too warm. There's also a wood-burning stove for drying out gear has a great entryway for getting out of your gear and hang it up. We arrived late on a Wednesday night had a little trouble finding the place I text the owner and he immediately got back to me and got me in with no problem. There's also a nice comfortable TV room for relaxing. And best of all the trail is only a half a block away.
