very charming home
The home is beautifully built with many personal accents. It is across the street from and with partial view of Donner Lake which you can enjoy from the front deck. Well equipped with cookware, bedding, towels, it was very well setup for our stay. It was a perfect setup for me and my daughters. Sugarbowl ski resort was less than 15 minutes away.
Be aware that like many homes in this area, they are on hillsides. About two flights of stairs to enter the house, and another a spiral staircase to access the upper bedrooms and bathroom. So you must be comfortable with stairs.
5 Star Review
Wendy R left a 5 star rating after their recent trip to Truckee, CA.
I highly recommend this place!! Had a wonderful time with all of the guys! And it’s right next to the water where we were fishing everyday! We stayed here for the weekend and it’s a place I will come back to!
Perfect getaway right on donner
Perfect house. Nice and cozy. Warm. And hey has a bar built right in
A relaxing place to unwind and recharge!
Cozy cabin with lots of charm and character! It had all the things you need - just like being at home - plus the expansive desk with gas grill and dining and seating furnitures for additional entertainment space was a big plus! My family and I, including other family members who were also vacationing at the same time, had such a fun and relaxing time! This place is definitely
at the top of my list!
Note: There are patio furnitures on the deck, fyi. We were told that there weren’t, so we were pleasantly surprised when we got there!
A Wonderful Time!
This cabin had everything we needed and forgot to bring with us. New appliances, plenty of towels, high speed internet, two TV's, washer and dryer, dishwasher, great big deck with nice furniture and a long table for outdoor dining, propane grill, filtered lake views... I hesitated to review this place due to the fact that I wanted it kept a secret, but decided not to be selfish. <br />
Things it could use for improvement:. Curtains in the downstairs bathroom for privacy, a signal check for the bedroom satellite TV (glitches). Not for those (elderly or disabled) not able to hike up some stairs from the parking space on street level up to the cabin. When driving on South Shore Drive make a right on Red Mountain Road and the parking space is the first opening on the left, a short distance off South Shore Drive. I added this due to it being a little difficult to find as the address is South Shore Drive, but you actually have to make a right turn onto Red Mountain Road and go up about 30 or 40 ft. The stairway up to the cabin is from the parking space. We plan to return! By the way, there is a public beach 1. 5 Mi away with all the amenities you can think of including kayaks, paddle boards, barbecue areas, Etc!
We appreciate the guests feedback as this cabin is rustic in terms of accessibility and we appreciate the great advice for finding this home. The owners have been contacted about adding a curtain in the bathroom window.
