Treetop Hideaway Georgia Mountains

Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Welcome to Treetop Hideaway! Our cozy and comfortable cabin is the perfect getaway - private, but very close to Hiawassee and Lake Chatuge. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on 2 levels make our cabin perfect for a couple, family, or group of friends.

Treetop Hideaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bathroom features a jetted tub for relaxing baths. Amenities include a gas fireplace with remote control, large screened in porch, second covered porch, fully equipped kitchen with Keurig and K-cups, second living area downstairs with TV, game table and board games. Washer and dryer, too. There are 2 grills outside, one charcoal and one propane.

We love that Treetop Hideaway is private, but very close to grocery stores, restaurants, hiking opportunities - you don't even have to get in the car to hike! - and Lake Chatuge recreation areas. We are just 2 miles from the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, which are located on Lake Chatuge and include a boat ramp with large parking area. Even closer is Bell Mountain, you can hike or drive from the cabin. Beyond Hiawassee, you will find the Alpine village of Helen - tubing down the river is a blast - Blairsville, with its amazing Farmer's Market, and Hayesville, with its quaint downtown square. The Appalachian Trail is also nearby, plus hiking trails, waterfalls, and Brasstown Bald - the highest peak in Georgia, with gorgeous views of 4 states. Lake Chatuge offers lots of activities for water lovers. There is a public beach about 2 miles from the cabin with a playground, large covered area of picnic tables, and a snack bar. The beach itself has a gorgeous mountain view. We also have 2 kayaks available for your use, with paddles and lifejackets.

Treetop Hideaway is truly a 4 seasons retreat: beautiful in the spring with a variety of flowers surrounding the cabin, close to beautiful Lake Chatuge for summer activities, absolutely gorgeous in the autumn with a variety of leaves and nearby hiking trails, and cozy in the winter with our gas fireplace with its own remote. We love our mountain retreat and are happy to offer it to you. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

About Chris and Lisa

Welcome to Treetop Hideaway! We are Lisa and Chris. Lisa is a preschool teacher and Chris is retired from the USMC. We are the parents of 5 children and we all love to travel. We purchased our cabin in Hiawassee, Georgia as a relaxing retreat with lots to do nearby. We are happy to offer it to you and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Chris and Lisa purchased this house in 2014

Why Chris and Lisa chose Hiawassee

We looked at a lot of cabins in the Georgia and North Carolina mountains. We fell in love with this one from the moment we saw it. It's private, but close to the conveniences of downtown Hiawassee. It's also very close to Lake Chatuge and the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds. We enjoy hiking, waterfalls, and the water activities of the lake. Treetop Hideaway is great for all seasons: gorgeous in the autumn, cozy in the winter, beautiful in the spring, and lots of fun in the summer.

What makes this house unique

Private but convenient to town. Great for couples, families, and friends. 2 levels offer privacy and togetherness. Many guests note that they love the screened-in porch. We do, too!
