About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

This beautifully decorated home is large and has an open layout to maximize on the view. You even get a view of the ocean from the master bathroom! There is also a comfortable studio on the ground level of our house (which can be rented separately or together) to accommodate larger families.

All this comes complete with breathtaking, full frontal views of the Atlantic Ocean. The house is very private. It has beautifully manicured grounds along with fruit trees. Enjoy the wonderful ocean breeze from the very large balcony or from the huge hammock. Take a wonderful walk on the beach (five minutes drive). If you are around during the months of February to March, you may get lucky and see whales!

The upstairs of the house sleeps six, and the studio sleep three to four. Please take note--the house can be rented completely or separately. See fees listed.

About Maria Pereira

My husband David and I have 3 children. We love to travel but most of all we love to spend time in our home in Puerto Rico. We have many wonderful memories in this house. We hope you will also have a memorable time!!

Maria Pereira purchased this house in 2005

Why Maria Pereira chose Puerto Rico

We fell in love with this home the second we saw it. The ocean views and the open floor plan was exactly what we were looking for. We hope to retire here one day. We love Puerto Rico, its culture and its people!

What makes this house unique

We love the grounds! My husband and I like to garden and completely get immersed in our gardening when we visit. We love to sit on the deck in the evenings, play some music and enjoy the stars.

Guestbook comments from the owner

If you're looking for peace and quiet Solimar is perfect for you. If you love to just sit and stare at the ocean, then Solimar perfect is for you. But if you want to be close to all the amenities we North Americans are used to, then Solimar is perfect for you too. It's located just 10 minutes from everything (Walmart, Church's Chicken, Pondarosa, Walgreens) but also minutes away from lots of little local stores and restaurants. Plus great roadside fruit and veggy stands. We're not beach people but if you are there are lots of very private beaches nearby.

The house is exactly like the pictures which is always a pleasant surprise. Very comfortable king size bed and couches in the living room. We are readers so comfortable lounging is very important to us. Lounging on the deck just watching the Iguanas come into the garden below was my favorite pass time. We were also lucky enough to see whales our first few mornings...that was so exciting! Maria was very easy to work with and her mom, also Maria, very sweet and welcoming.

We rented a car which is a must. A GPS, in addition to an island map, is also a must. As Maria will tell you, Puerto Rico is not great for signage, in fact many streets have no signage. When you look at the map remember, the smaller the road #, like #2, the larger the road. If you see a road with a 3 or 4 digit number expect to be driving a very narrow and winding road....my husband loved those! Road # 123 is a major route that runs North and South through the mountains. It is super spectacular, the mountains are breathtaking but it's like a roller coaster with lots of oncoming traffic, again, my husband had a blast driving it!

We had some wonderful trips around the island but were always happy to get back to Solimar and sit on the deck with an nice cold Medalla! We loved Solimar!

Amazing Vacation Home!

  • 5 of 5

Solimar offered breathtaking views and amazing comfort for our six day family vacation. The house has everything you need to feel at home and relaxed. Maria and family provided superb customer service throughout our vacation experience, and even provided a surprise cake for my wife's birthday.

Peaceful retreat with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

Solimar was just what we needed. It is a beautiful home that is equipped for all your needs. The home is spacious and comfortable with an ocean view that is incredible.

Maria and her welcoming crew were fabulous and easily accessible. Before our trip Maria sent easy to follow maps and suggested a few places to visit while we were there.

The kitchen was very well equipped and eating on the spacious patio for both breakfast and dinner was a highlight for us. We stayed six nights and only turned the ac on once, our first night there. We quickly learned the cool evening breezes were all we needed for a comfortable night sleep while hearing the ocean waves from below.

Each morning we were awoken the the warm sunshine flooding in the windows and the delightful crows of the neighborhood roosters.

Our stay was incredible, there is only one thing we would've done differently.... stayed longer!!

We are already beginning to think about our next trip and it will definitely include a return stay to the beautiful Solimar and it's more then gracious host.

Amazing, beautiful property!

  • 5 of 5

Don't hesitate to book this property! I have been coming to the Puerto Rico and usually visit the eastern part of the island and decided to discover the western side. Once we picked up our car and plugged in the gps for the location and in about 30 min we arrived at the house. Beautiful, spacious, house, just like in the pics. The house has all the amenities one would need. Maria is very attentive and just phone call away with any concerns. The views from the terrace are amazing and the house is on a lot of land with plants, trees and shrubs which gives you a feeling of being in paradise. This property is close to Crash Boat Beach and Jobos Beach in Aguadilla. The Isabela Bakery on route 2 has a nice breakfast menu. My sister and I had an amazing time and felt so relaxed and comfortable at this property. I would definitely with no hesitation book this property again, so I'll say hasta luego!

lovely home with amazing view, everything you need

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at Solimar. nice clean home with amazing view and breezes. Very nicely landscaped gardens and flowers blooming around the outdoor shower. I would love to go back when the weather is a bit cooler. there is amazing snorkeling at the area beaches and good food at Tuluum. Our only negatives were a dysfunctional DVD player and broken dishwasher, yet was worth every penny. Thank You Maria

AWESOME OCEAN VIEW

  • 5 of 5

Maria, you have a beautiful home, situated where I consider to be the best place on earth, overlooking the ocean. The week that I had stayed was very relaxing. My main reason for choosing your home, was to enjoy the ocean view, unwind, and just for 1 week, live as if I was retired. Your home is more than what pictures can show. Even though I didn't get to meet your Mom, due to car trouble. The gentleman that you sent was very polite and thorough in showing me around your home. Your home is clean and well maintained, both inside and outside. Even though you do overlook the ocean, you are still close to the every day necessities of life. I made Selecto Supermarket and Ricomini Bakery my main spots. The cafeteria in Selecto has very good food and the bakery has delicious cakes and doughnuts and sandwiches. Anyone looking at this property, you can't go wrong. Make Solimar your vacation destination.
