Escape to the mountains of North Carolina to enjoy some true rest and relaxation disconnected from the hustle and bustle of the everyday. Drive down the long winding private driveway to your own secluded clearing in the Appalachian Mountains. Situated on the edge of the property right next to a land preserve, a beautiful and private Log Cabin sits on over an acre in the woods next to Lake Sheila just outside of historic downtown Saluda. The house is right over the border from the pristine Greenville Watershed forest in South Carolina and a perfect middle about 30 minutes drive to Greenville, SC and Hendersonville and Asheville, NC. A big main room connects to a huge kitchen area where everyone can gather perfect for big meals followed by a game of cards, a nostalgic board game or an old movie you forgot you loved that we have waiting. Outdoor living is at its best - enjoy a cup of coffee in the rocking chairs for the sunrise on the side porch, a hike around Lake Shiela for the morning dew, an afternoon nap on the glassed sunroom or an evening cocktail on the swing on the front porch taking full advantage of bringing the indoors out and the outdoors in. With no one around but the birds and the wind in the trees, no wifi, broadcast TV channels and the closet cell signal just outside the driveway, it is a true escape when you want to disconnect and a hop skip and jump when and if you chose to be connected again during your stay. Our family has created some incredible memories here and we hope you can too.

About Fran Bennett
We are from Charleston, SC and purchased the home when our son was attending Furman University. We have enjoy this escape for more than 17 years with our four children, our 5 grandchildren and many of our family and friends. It has become a hideaway and a place for us to recharge and relax.
Fran Bennett purchased this House in 2000
Why Fran Bennett chose Saluda
The Cabin is located in the Lake Sheila community which is on the outskirts of HIstoric Saluda. The property is close enough to everything you would want to discover that Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina has to offer but removed enough and secluded enough to enjoy some peace and quiet offering the best of every world.
