Our bright, clean and beautifully designed home boasts polished floorboards, high ceilings, a state of the art kitchen with stone bench tops, hotel style bathroom and an incredible private garden oasis where guests can while away their time in the hammock whilst listening to the birds.
The home was architecturally designed and renovated in 2015 and marries the elegance and charm of the local Edwardian period with a fresh modern interior and new appliances and amenities.
Our porch offers an ideal spot for guests to sit and enjoy a mug of tea as the setting sun hits in the afternoons. The front bedroom has a queen size pull out sofa bed, and an abundance of storage. The main bedroom is a peaceful oasis, and guarantees that guests will have a very restful nights sleep in the comfy king sized bed. The open plan kitchen, dining, living is the perfect place for entertaining or relaxing whilst enjoying the view out to the garden. A european laundry with washer and dryer are also available. The outdoor space with deck area, bbq and veggie patch allow for a quintessential Australian dining experience.
For guests wishing to stay in, there are no shortage of books to read or records to listen to. A multitude of cook books are also available for those who love to get busy in the kitchen. We also have a couple of bikes that guests are welcome to use and highly recommend a ride down along the beach.
The central heating throughout will ensure guests keep toasty and warm through the cooler months, while the a/c will make sure you stay cool on those hot days.
Our home is ideally positioned and a wonderful base for those who wish to venture out and not only check out the local area but to also see Melbourne. Guests are literally minutes walk to the beach, parks, cafes, bars and weekly farmers markets. You are also 7km to the CBD easily accessible by way of trams or trains, both within 10 minutes walking distance. There is free, all day parking on the street and there are always spots available.
The entire house is yours! We have a side gate that should remain locked when not in use.
It is more than likely that if you are renting our place, its because we are away ourselves. We will be available via email and sms and want to ensure that guests needs are taken care of no matter what. If we are around and guests would like some local interaction, we are more than happy to show you around!
Everything you need is within walking distance. We love to walk and ride along the beach as often as possible as well as take daily strolls down the canal (Elster creek) or in St Kilda Botanical Gardens. Ormond Road has some great cafes, shops and grocery stores. We are a short walk to the iconic Acland street (but far enough away from the noise) and Fitzroy Street with many bars and restaurants.
With all guests we would love to share Melbourne´s best kept secrets, where to wine, dine and unwind. Local information including maps and a full booklet on how all the bits in the house work will be provided. We also have fantastic friends who are more than willing to respond to any urgencies that may arise on the occasion that we are unavailable.
