You can listen to the loons at night while enjoying the crackling bonfire in the fire pit overlooking the lake and looking up at the big dipper. During the day we love to swim by just jumping off the dock! Or little ones may walk in from the sandy shoreline. Fishing off our dock is easy for the kids (or adults), you might catch a bass or even a northern, always a sunny or bluegill. Long Lake is known to be one of 6 premier large lakes in the area because of its clean, clear water, great fishing (walleyes, northern, bass, crappies and sunnys),and large size 1700 acres, 190 feet deep.
Newly remodeled this year, our very secluded lake home available year round in the woods has a large kitchen with granite counter tops, huge island with 4 bar stools, stainless steel appliances including brand new dishwasher. Small appliances included are blender, crockpot, coffeepot, electric griddle, and toaster. Open floor plan including 3 bedrooms (master suite with queen log bed overlooking the lake, 2nd bedroom has 2 Queen beds and 3rd has 3 bunk beds). For large parties we have a full size bed in the unfinished walkout basement and plenty of extra floor space for a blow-up bed. Large screen satellite Direct TV, WiFi, main floor laundry room, and a huge screen porch overlooks the lake.
The dock has plenty of room for your boat, 2 public boat landings on lake, north end is closer but steeper, south end is farther but safer. Boat and/or pontoon rentals provided in town at www.watertoysrental.com. They bring the boat to the public landing.
The gradual descent to the crystal clear water and hard sand bottom is perfect for swimming or any water activities. Our 32' dock with a large platform at the end with a ladder is perfect for swimming, fishing off the end, kids love to jump off the end, adults too! We are located on the east side of the lake that's very quiet, to the north is an expansive chunk of land with no homes!
We also have a live well for all the walleyes (and other fish) that you're going to catch. The sandy shallow clear water is perfect for small children to bring their shovels and sand toys.
Outdoor Stainless Steel Grill with rotisserie is perfect for your nightly dinners. All utensils provided for the chef in your party.

About Chris Goodmanson
Our lake home is part of 30 acres that were purchased back in the 50's by my father in law's best friend who sold the lots to just the 2 families. There are 9 in all, of which 5 of us remain. A job change forced us to move to Phoenix, Arizona in 1998, then to California in 2011, so in 2006 our property became a vacation rental since unfortunately for us we cannot get there as often as we would like. It is a very special place for us, July 4th is the one time in the year our whole family looks forward to being together. We have created so many lasting memories that will be cherished forever. I am very flexible so feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Chris Goodmanson purchased this House in 1992
Why Chris Goodmanson chose Henrietta
This property is very special to our family as my husband's parents had their lake home 5 houses away. He would go up and stay all summer with his mother and 4 brothers while his dad would be working in the cities only coming up on weekends. They would live off the land as his mother didn't drive. They knew who's boat was driving past by the sound of the motor.
What makes this House unique
Long Lake is known to be one of the best lakes in the area because of it's size, clarity, sandy bottom, fishing, swimming to name a few. We feel our location is perfect because we are on a quiet corner, on the northeast side, there is a wide open space with no homes so we are very private and very wooded. Since we are on the east side of the lake we always get a slight breeze which means no mosquito's! Hard to believe but depending on the year, wind and temperature we are very fortunate. We have the perfect elevation for easy access to the lake. Swimming and fishing off the dock for the kids is the best. Other benefits include gorgeous sunsets, plenty of yard space for games, picnics, tents, and at night sitting by the bonfire and watching the stars. You may even get lucky and see the northern lights! We did see them once. In the winter we are very close to snowmobile trails, Heartland Trail in Dorset is the closest, you can snowmobile there from our place, it's about 5 miles away. You may also ice fish anywhere on the lake, you may drive from one of the 2 boat launches.

Beautiful home, gorgeous lake!
Wonderful weekend sharing this home with dear friends. Just perfect for our two families with plenty space for more if needed!
LOVED this cabin! A Wonderful & Relaxing Retreat!
What a great place to stay! The location was private and secluded - exactly what we wanted, yet it's close enough to Park Rapids for amenities. The cabin itself was absolutely incredible. It was clean as a whistle, wonderfully maintained, and amply supplied with towels, kitchen utensils, etc. We loved the newly remodeled master bedroom and the walk-in shower was to die for. The beach and dock were perfect for playing and fishing. We loved the screen porch overlooking the lake. At night, we had a bonfire every evening, listened to the loons and watched the sunset. Absolutely perfect! Very reasonably priced for the size and quality of the cabin. Thank you for sharing your home with us! We will definitely rent again for more wonderful memories and will also recommend your place to our friends.
