2 Bedroom, 1.5 Bath Beach Bungalow
Pleasure staying on the island and loved this cozy house.
So glad you enjoyed your stay.
Not very clean
This was our first time using Island Realty, and we will not be returning to this particular unit. It was not very clean ☹️. And who puts louvered doors on bathrooms? There were gross clumps of hair on the bathroom floor (I have pictures) and the louvered doors were coated with dust. The decorations looked like they hadn't been cleaned since they were put in the house (again, I have pictures). The exhaust fan in the master bedroom is really disgusting. And it didn't help that we had a learning curve not understanding that "furnished" did not include sheets or towels. After driving for 7 hours, being hungry and exhausted and then trying to find bedding did not enhance our opinion of the house. I looked up other listings and now understand.
Good place for a good price
Had a great week here. Place has some minor issues but nothing too much to complain about, especially for the price. It's close to the beach, outside shower is handy, and close enough to everything you don't spend half your vacation driving. The beach near this place is super clean. Check in was easy and was greeted by a very sweet lady who gave me the rundown and gave the kids some toys to play with. I'd Def consider this place again.
"I think you're gonna need a bigger boat"
The interior of the house was adorable. Everything you would need to enjoy home away from home. The upgrades were nice - perfect for small family. THEN the rain came...and although you can't control the weather...it would have been beneficial to know the driveway floods to the point we had to move our car or it would have been flooded. The driveway slopes, and as a result sits lower with run off from the road in the front yard to the back of the property. Wading in debris from the road is not my ideal vacation. The rental company was of absolute no help. When I called to ask if we could park in a vacant rental all I got was "I'm not familiar with that property...everything is booked" our neighbors at the Krusty Crab also had flooding but not as bad...and said we could park in their driveway...which was very nice of them...considering they were complete strangers...and you would think the rental agency who was paid a fair market value to rent the home would have been more accommodating or at the least been able to offer us an alternative...like say the free parking down the block we learned about on our own. We are repeat customers having rented Doc Holiday previously. We are going with Century 21 this year.
The rain of the magnitude to which the traveler refers is an uncommon event that only happens every few years, and affects several houses in the vicinity, and on the island. The town has installed a storm drain, just off the road, about 60 feet from the house that has alleviated the problem for the most part. The house has been renting for 7 years, and this is the first complaint of any kind rendered by a traveler.
