Kelley Point Made For A Perfect 60th Birthday!
Bald eagles, blueberry pie, Bayview Takeout's unbelievable lobster rolls, all from the most beautiful setting you can imagine.
The photos of the view and especially the interior of Kelley Point don't do it justice. The kitchen is gorgeous, spotless, and has all the amenities you'd want. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated and are separated in opposite wings for privacy.
People in Jonesport are friendly, offering a friendly wave from their pick-ups, great chats in Manaford's, the local market, and be sure to ask Frank at the Bayview Takeout how he started his business.
Kelley Point is also a great home base for trips into Machias for the annual Blueberry Festival as well as St. Andrews By The Sea in New Brunswick. Don't forget your passport because you don't want to miss Wolfhead Smokers' great deals on slabs of amazing smoked salmon or the cocktails on the porch of the Algonquin Hotel.
The deck is the perfect viewing platform for birdwatching and watching lobsterman haul in their traps, and the beach at low tide is great for sea glass searching--I found a highly prized blue "mermaid's tear" on our last night. Lauri has thoughtfully installed a stairway that makes it easy to get to the beach.
A perfect vacation in a perfect location--and we've reserved the same week already for next year.
We are so elated that you had what sounds like a fantastic vacation experience while celebrating turning 60! That's what Downeast Maine has to offer and we strive for our guests to enjoy the property and hope they experience a five star experience! Thanks for sharing all the great details of the people you met and places you experienced....

The house and the location are fabulous! As soon as one walks into the house, the view is breathtakingly beautiful. The house is very comfortably furnished, the kitchen has everything one could possibly need, and the extra amenities are nice. We enjoyed using the binoculars, looking through the books, but mostly just enjoying the view. The stairs down to the water's edge were so helpful for our granddaughter who loved walking along the beach collecting shells and rocks. We could not be more pleased with this beautiful house!
Stunning location - beautiful home!
Very lovely, clean home. Beautiful views. Very peaceful! We loved the fireplace and used it on several nights, as it was cool in the evenings. The steps to the beach was a welcome addition to the property. The only thing I would recommend, is possibly screening in a portion of the deck to have dinner or drinks in the evening outside. You can't do it without it because of the mosquitoes! They were awful!
A very special place with views galore and wonderful amenities. We'd come again in a heartbeat.
The owners thought of every thing to make your stay a wonderful experience. From books, to lawn games. To picnic items, marshmallow sticks, as well as home items. The views of lobster boats, the tides going in and out, granite rock islands and formations plus birds are incredible.(An eagle flew by one day) Not a beach to access, it's only visible during low tide and below a seawall, but there's some nearby. Loved going to sleep listening to the buoy bells. Great comfort lots with of information provided to explore. Jonesport is a working lobster town and what some may say is the real Maine. We loved it here.Nothing but high five for our stay.
So glad you enjoyed your vacation in our home. The beach is accessible with a short walk down the lane takes you straight to the beach.
Wonderful relaxing getaway.
This is a wonderful cottage in a great location. The accommodations were super-comfortable and the kitchen was fantastic. Thanks you for all the special touches, and all the information on the local area and things to do. We didn't want to leave, and would love to stay again. We have already recommended the cottage to some friends.
Beautiful and Romantic Getaway
The house was lovely, well equipped and nicely appointed, clean and perfect - lovely deck, great view of the ocean. Close to parks, stores, and restaurants but still private. Just what we wanted.
Enjoy this quaint Lobster fishing village in down east Maine. This is old Maine at it's finest. This area is within easy driving distance to Canada's Campobello Island, and the Bar Harbor region for sightseeing in Acadia National Park. It is just a few miles across the bridge to Beal's and Great Wass Island where a nature preserve for hiking is located. Enjoy the best nature has to offer. Get your fresh Maine lobster at the local lobster co-op. Relax and enjoy the best of all worlds having the coastal experience without all the tourists and traffic! Jonesport is the largest lobstering area on the East Coast. It offers a small town experience but has dining in town, a post office, gas stations, and grocery store for all your needs. Machias is 15 miles up the road for additional supplies and restaurants. Other Activities: Birdwatching, 1.5 hrs to Canada, Harbor nearby, Quaint Lobster fishing village Golf: Just 15 minutes away in Jonesboro there is a golf course. Also in Roque Bluffs there is another golf course (30 minutes away). Enjoy golfing in the Maine cool air.
