Why BioBio? The name comes from a French children’s song by Pascal Parisot, Mes Parents Sont Bio. “My parents are organic,” Pascal sings. “At our house everything’s organic/The salt is organic/The frying pan is organic/My father is Organic Man/Married to Organic Woman.” The chorus is “Bio, Bio, Bio, Bio, Bio”- organic, organic, organic… It’s a funny song, but it sort of expresses tongue in cheek how we operate here on Arrowhead Farm.
BioBio is a custom built eco guest house with natural swimming pools 10 minutes from Nelson, BC. Attention, nature lovers, mountain bikers, skiers, and foodies! Your stay with us can be an agritourism experience with complementary organic and permaculture tours and an opportunity to buy organic produce fresh from the farm.
With custom cabinetry and eco materials throughout, this guest house is one of a kind... It might not be modest to say so, but it is true and we are very excited to start hosting visitors to Nelson in this wonderful space. In addition to the house itself, there is a beautiful patio and access to natural swimming pools. The views are amazing, the situation is very private, yet Nelson's downtown with its coffee shops, boutiques, markets and restaurants is only a 10 min drive or a 30 min bike ride away. There is even a 4 times a day city bus if you'd rather leave your car at home.
Morning Mountain biking area is accessible without a car. Whitewater Ski resort is within a 45 min drive.
We will welcome you and show you around, a farm tour is complementary and we are on hand to answer any questions or give you recommendations. If you are a family with children, our 2 boys ( 11 and 13 years old) love making new friends. If you prefer to have privacy and peace, your wishes will be respected- the guest house has its own patio and is very private, separated from our house and yard and gardens by an orchard.
This is the best of both worlds situation: so close to everything Nelson ( the best small arts community in Canada) has to offer, and yet in the peace and quiet of a rural setting on an organic farm.
