Escape into the lush redwood groves of Sonoma County at this two-bedroom Guerneville home, a serene retreat with a cozy treehouse ambience, a gorgeous deck beneath a forest canopy, and an ideal location for exploring the Russian River, the surrounding wine country, and the wild ocean coast.
This single-level home sits in a grove of old-growth redwoods one mile southwest of downtown Guerneville, a unique, artsy town on the banks of the Russian River. Take morning hikes in Armstrong Woods State Natural Reserve three miles north, spend afternoons swimming and kayaking in the river at Johnson's Beach (one-mile northeast) and Monte Rio Beach (four miles south), and treat yourself to a scenic day of wine tasting at Korbel Champagne Cellars four miles east.
A beautiful space for two couples or a small family, the living area is open, inviting, and full of forest views. Prepare homemade waffles in the kitchen (with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher) each morning, enjoy breakfast by the window as the sound dock plays in the background, and use the free WiFi to prepare for your visit to Sonoma Coast State Park 12 miles southwest.
Come home from a day of kayaking, canoeing, and swimming in the Russian River to curl up with a book on the sectional sofa, choose something to watch on Netflix or cable, and light the gas grill among the trees on the spectacular back deck. The porch is also the perfect place to take a seat at the patio table, shuffle a deck of cards, and open a new bottle of wine from Porter Bass, Martinelli, La Crema, or one of the other local vineyards.

Beautiful house with creepy art
Nestled in the redwoods halfway between Bodega Bay and Healdsburg, the cabin's location is perfect home base for exploring the area! Most areas of the house look like they were remodeled fairly recently, beds and couch were comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked with all of the cooking gadgets you need. My only negative comment was to the artwork in the house; it was very creepy! There are paintings of black crows and small children throughout the house, and we ended up taking two of the paintings off of the walls during our 2-night stay. Everything else in the house was great; we really enjoyed our overall stay -
just wouldn't recommend to anyone who is easily spooked.
