Welcome to beautiful Lake Columbia, Brooklyn, Michigan. Home of the Michigan International Speedway. This home is ideal for race enthusiasts and race teams. Lake Columbia is approximately 860 acres of clear beautiful water, all sports private lake. You can enjoy boating, rafting, water-skiing, fishing, and sunbathing.
My home is a 6000 square foot arts and crafts style house. The main level features large beautiful gourmet kitchen with eating area and formal dining room adjacent to a large great room with entertainment system, with large windows that give a spectacular view of the lake. First floor laundry room with attached four car garage and mud room. Large master bedroom on the main floor, with walk-in tiled shower with two shower heads and a Jacuzzi tub that also provides you with a spectacular view of the lake. There is an office available on the first floor with high-speed internet access; also has WiFi.
For your outdoor entertaining there is a 16 foot by 36 foot cedar deck that overlooks the lake with a gas grill and patio furniture, seating for 16 people.
Upper level includes four bedrooms with two full baths; two of the bedrooms have views of the lake.
Lower level has large great room with pool table, wood fireplace, and another area for sleeping with a full bathroom. French doors lead out to lower patio that access the lake.
The property was amazing. It was very secluded and you could not really see the homes of neighbors while on the property. All of the other homes seemed pretty close together, but this one had plenty of space and shade. Which was nice because we had plenty of room for outdoor activities. The home was very large and perfect for adults and children of all ages. The kitchen was nice and had everything that we needed to prepare meals while there. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and catching fish off the dock. They actually got some pretty big ones.
The owner of this rental was very easy to work with as well. He answered all of my questions and I talked to him numerous times before our stay. We lost power on the first night there for a couple hours and he returned our call late at night to let us know who the power company was and we were the first to report the outage. It was only off for a couple hours. He then called me the next morning to apologize for the inconvenience (though it was clearly not his fault) and make sure that it got turned back on and everything was okay. Would definitely recommend this property, especially for larger families who want a relaxing and secluded stay!
I have rented dozens of homes over the years, and this is among the best ever! For a week long family reunion for 12, it was PERFECT.
The home is extremely well furnished with comfortable beds and interesting antiques, but not overdone so that there is plenty of room for all you bring. The kitchen was stocked with everything needed, including lots of pots and pans, and plenty of glassware, two things that are normally lacking in a rental. The availability of a second refrigerator in the garage was a thoughtful addition. Also available were two kayaks as well as numerous floats for use in the lake. The large yard provided lots of room for games, and the corn hole boards that were available received constant use by our crew.
The owner was a pleasure to work with in setting up the rental arrangement, and I am sure would have been there at a moment's notice, had the need arisen. With everything thoughtfully in place, there was no need to work with the owner once we checked in. This is a rental property that should not be overlooked if planning a vacation in the area!
