Freshly renovated. Comfortable. Relaxing atmosphere.
My family and I stayed at this nice place in mid April 2018. I would certainly recommend Shirley's house to any family with kids. You would love the relaxing atmosphere with a nice view of the bay and splashing Dolphins. So get your binoculars ready to watch the wild life around you. Banana trees in the back yard are just adding nice feelings to it.
On positive side:
1.Nice kitchen, bath, living room and bedrooms. We had a plenty of space for living, storage and kids playing (hidden small rooms were the favourite place for our kids to hangout).
2.Everithing in the house was brand new with attractive tropical/sea design to it.
3.awesome patio and barbecue area
4.dishwasher, washer, dryer were available for our use. That made our stay easier.
5. Very convenient location if you have a car. We were getting around with no problem at all. And if you don't have one, enterprise branch is one block away.
6. Check out the community center right next to the house. Awesome swimming pool with slides.
7.quite and peaceful area. Away from the bars and restaurants. Still not too far away from the Waffle House : )
8. I can carry on with the positive moments (beaches, restaurants, neighbourhood, etc.), but there is a character limit in the comment section. : )
On negative side:
1.The ceilings are short and for a tall guy like it was a problem. My wife even complained that I started to round my back, but that was just natural safety measure.
2. Windixie store right next to the house was closed. Too bad, otherwise grocery shopping would be way easier.
3. The dryer quit working during our stay, hopefully it will be fixed before next vacationing family arrives.
The property is very well maintained. Shirley and her friend Trent made this place look amazing. We had a feeling that we lived in the best house on the street. Especially, when the owner was trying her best to make our stay unforgettable and relaxing.
Cozy and Convienent
This upstairs 2 bedroom apartment had everything we needed for our family of 6 (2 adults, 4 children under 13). It was very clean, had a nice living area, great porch with a nice view of the inner waterway and cozy bedrooms. There was even a little, "Harry Potter closet" that my two youngest (ages 8 & 5) slept in using a sleeping bag rather than use the pull out couch. The owner is extremely nice and takes care of any issues. Across the street there is a grocery store, Walgreens and one block away a nice brewpub. There is free laundry available as well as a grill for cooking outdoors. While there is a stove top for you to use, there is not a traditional oven (although a toaster oven is provided for small cooking jobs).
Literally across the street is a community center where you can workout in the their very nice fitness center for $1 a day. Best of all for the kids is a pool complete with 2 water slides, dumping buckets, basketball hoops and even 25 yard lanes if you want to get a workout in. Cost is $3 adult, $2 child/seniors per day. Get a schedule for the open swim hours at the window outside the entrance gate.
Upham Public Beach is only about a 2-4 minute car ride and offers a great family beach complete with bathrooms and a cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. Cost is $2.25/hour for parking. Get there before 11am if you want to find a parking spot easily. John's Pass at Medeira Beach is a short 10 minute car ride if you want to shop, choose one of the many restaurants, get ice cream or just watch the many dolphins that swim past (pay to park). There is also the Don Cesar Hotel on the end of the St. Pete Beach island (about 12 minute car ride). Known as the Pink Palace/Castle, this historic landmark hotel is a cool place to explore and comes with shopping and ice cream to relax with as you explore the resort's grounds. Paid parking via machine on street $2.25/hour.
This is a great place that we found had everything we needed as a family to have a great trip. It's located in the heart of all the action making most activities a short and quick car trip from your front door.
Beautiful, cozy, and perfect for our vacation!
Ms. Shirley decorated this place so wonderfully! She has thought of everything you will need to enjoy your time in St Pete Beach. A short walk to shops and the beach. There’s even a couple of bikes to get around town as well! We had a super vacation and if we are back this way will definitely stay here again! Thanks for making our spring break complete!
Adorable place with everything you need.
Our stay at Corey House was great. Shirley was more than helpful with everything we needed. She supplied everything we needed. Including bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, etc and a grill outside. Her place is adorable. The location is very convenient to lots of restaurants and places you can go to hear live music. It’s a short walk to the beaches and to Treasure Island. And if you go to Treasure Island make sure you go to Caddy’s on the Beach. It’s a great spot to have some food and fun. Enjoy your stay!
