Booking 2020 Summer now
I started to visit this area in 1991 when there was no Rosemary Beach, no Water Color or Water Sound, just sand dunes, some funky old beach houses and Seaside (which was about half the present size). I fell in love with the privacy, the quiet and most of all the beach. Nick’s on the Beach, the Wheel House and Goatfeathers restaurants were the only local eateries. Simple food. We travelled to Sandestin for groceries until Winn Dixie on Hwy 98 by Carrillon Beach was opened around 1996. I like tranquility, privacy and a sense of well-being and 30A was the only beach area I had visited that had it all. Unfortunately, at the time I was a young professional without 2 nickels to rub together and I had to wait to acquire a place of my own. I worked with the architect to design the layout of the interior and to participate in the exterior design. The interior was designed and decorated by me for comfort and practical function, without stuffiness. Little touches are everywhere from the dining room arches which mimic the exterior arches over the garage to the height of the ceilings and the barrel vault entry from the foyer to the living space.
Owner purchased this House in 2001
Why Owner chose Seagrove Beach
I rented a home in the Lakewood Drive-Beachfront Trail area for several years. There was a “For Sale” sign on this lot. I loved the way the pine trees smell on a misty morning and the wild rosemary that grew all over. There was nothing around and it was a perfect slice of heaven to me. To the South of the lot were sand dunes beyond which the water of the Gulf beckoned (Hurricane Opal flattened the dunes, the developers swarmed in, the county commissioners issued building permits and condos rose to replace the dunes along the coastline). Transcendence by the Sea was built in 2014-15. It is a private beach home with all of the amenities of a private home. The kitchen is a cook’s kitchen because I love to cook. The fixtures and other small details in the home are quality because this is not a flimsy home built to minimum standards with the primary purpose being rental. Everything about the evolving nature of this home is designed so that the unique nature of the home blends with the surrounding environment and creates a tranquil, peaceful escape.
What makes this House unique
With the increasing number of visitors to the area this home provides a quiet space for those who need to get away from the crowds. It is a private space. You do not have to compete with other “community” guests who are also seeking a chaise at the pool or on the “community beach”. It takes less time to walk or ride a bike to the beach than it does from some of the homes in the “communities” scattered along the 30a corridor. You can wake in the morning at your pace. There will be no leaf blowers and other sounds of the “community workers” who are up and about early to keep the community looking great. The pool person will stop by on Monday for 15 minutes and the yard folks show up every couple of weeks. Peace and quiet, if that is what you need. You do not have to worry about reserving a table at your favorite restaurant days or weeks in advance of your visit or waiting for hours to get a table. You can arrange for a private chef to come to the house to cook for you. We have had weddings in the backyard. The backyard area is perfect for small, intimate celebrations whether marriage, anniversaries, new life chapters or other exciting life adventures. If you like to meditate or do yoga there is a meditation porch on which you can roll out your mat. Or we can help arrange a private yoga class in the backyard. Sometimes, on a quiet morning before the hustle and bustle of cars and trucks and summer visitors drown out the sound you can sit on the pergola porch and smell the pine trees and hear the waves on the beach.
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Family vacation 2019
We really enjoyed our stay. Hollie was absolutely amazing in giving us daily beach reports and trying to make our stay as comfortable as possible! The beach is a very short bike ride or walk and the fact that the house provided beach chairs, umbrellas and a wagon made the short trip even easier. The outdoor pool was a very nice feature. We will definitely be returning!
Home away from Home
We were a group of 10 best friends from college celebrating turning 40! This house was PERFECTION. Everything from the plunge pool to the beach wagon and bikes. We were greeted with a wonderful surprise of balloons and a beautiful (and delicious) strawberry cake! We had our groceries picked up by Hollie as well and she not only picked them up but put them all away. Coming in to our first day left nothing to do but get our suits on and head down to the beach. Speaking of beach, this was a breeze! Seagrove is just far enough away from the rush of Seaside. We never felt over crowded on the beach. Driving around town is a different story! (Make sure to make reservations for dinner in peak season!). We made the short walk to the beach, using the wagon and bikes. We loved having the extra chairs provided for the times we just wanted to go watch the sunset but we did rent umbrellas/chairs for the majority of the group when we planned to be on the beach all day. Just made packing lunches and coolers easier when that was all we needed to take. WE WOULD DEFINITELY rent this home again. Immaculate, well appointed, comfy beds/linens and nice open area for gathering. You can't go wrong with this place!
A Wonderful Family Time In Florida......
The property was as advertised....very clean and comfortable. There were 7 in our family party, 2 children ages 9 and 5. The kitchen, dining, and living area are great for staying in. We grilled two meals outside and hung around the pool. The kids loved it. We especially enjoyed not being right on the beach but having a 5 minute walk there.
We also enjoyed the roomy master suite and bath. Our children and grandchildren liked being upstairs. All the beds were great!! Hollie made it happen just as promised. We would definitely return!!
Beautiful Home in a Perfect Location
Transcendence by the Sea was absolutely perfect. The home is beautiful and has everything you could need. The beach is a short easy walk and our family loved the bicycles for rides around the area and to the beach. We spent everyday at the beach and the pool at Transcendence was exactly what we needed after a day at the beach. The backyard is an oasis with lots of seating for a large family. Hollie was always prompt to respond to any questions we had. We are hoping to retun soon!!
Excellently appointed vacation home!
The location was superb. A short walk or bike ride to the beach (which was never very crowded) and close to all that 30A has to offer. Minutes from the HUB, Alys, 2 state parks, Seaside, Watercolor, Rosemary, etc. Ideal location...close to all of the highlights but not congested/crowded. The home was beautifully designed and incredibly well kept. Plus, it had all of the amenities of home. Hollie was very responsive and went over and above to ensure we had a good stay including providing a pack&play, high chair and delivering groceries. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to rent this property and hope to come back! We rented a golf cart and the kids enjoyed that + the bikes so much.
We celebrated a major anniversary with our entire family which includes three children ages 7, 5, and 2. Everything we needed was supplied and all our family remarked that the owners “had thought of everything!” We lived our time here and made many special memories. Thank you!
Linda~ Thank you for the wonderful review. We are glad you had a stay to remember. Have a wonderful 2019! Hollie

“Driving along Florida’s coast, many beach towns seem indistinguishable from the next. Not so with the beaches of South Walton… each town is noticeably different and has its own particular charm.” – Melissa Wolcott, Accent on Tampa Bay magazine
