We are Patrick and Jackie and the photo is from 2000 when we visited Turkey. We've traveled much and have lived in several other countries and we love providing a comfortable place to stay for fellow travelers. This vacation rental was first opened in June 2007.
Owner purchased this House in 1998
Why Owner chose East Colorado Springs
We really enjoy living downtown in Colorado Springs...the old houses, large trees, great neighborhoods and the proximity to museums, restaurants, theater, symphony, parks, movies, etc. Walking the old neighborhoods is wonderful and the large front porch is one of the things that first attracted me to the house.
What makes this House unique
We hope you'll enjoy staying here with the covered patio with outdoor kitchen. In the spring and summer there are fresh herbs that are available for the guests who like to cook. The private hot tub holds 6 people...children love it after a long day of sightseeing. It helps them sleep. Our kitchens are well equipped and receive many compliments as does the comfort of our beds. The back garden is an oasis in the city and is filled with fruit trees, flowers and some vegetables. Each week in spring, summer and fall something new is blooming!

We loved this house.
Everything was perfect. We were greeted with fresh fruit, pastries and juice. Jackie set up a tree and provided the ornaments. The grandchildren loved decorating it. The space was perfect for everyone. For family who stayed there and those who came to visit. One night there were 25 of us with room for all. I would love to see the gardens in full bloom. It was nice enough to grill out one night for dinner. The hot tub was so relaxing after a busy day of sight seeing. I would highly recommend this property.
Thank you so very much, Shirley! It warms my heart to think about everyone there and the grandchildren. It was my pleasure to work with you....you made this process very easy. Thank you and Happy New Year, Jackie
This was an amazing house in a wonderful area with an engaging host
My family and I stayed in this home over the Thanksgiving Holiday. There were 7 adults and 1 child along with a visiting family of 3 during the day. We had plenty of space to relax or privacy when needed. Jackie was easily reached for questions and was very accommodating. The house is well-equipped and we lacked nothing in preparing our Thanksgiving feast. It also helped that there were two full kitchens. This made everything so much easier. For a large gathering for business or family, I would recommend this great place.
Thank you very much, Minerva! I really appreciated how you let me know immediately when there was a question or need so I could take care of it promptly. It was our pleasure to have you and your family stay at our vacation home. You were all wonderful guests.
Nice place, nice landlord. We loved it.
Thank you, Jianglan! It was a pleasure to work with you.
As good as advertised.
The property was a very nice turn of the century home. House was well outfitted to meet all our needs. This house would be a five star if not for a few minor details.
The master bedroom's window A/C unit was not blowing cold air in the 90+ days. This only affected us because our baby slept in there during the day. Due to the angle of the driveway, our party sustained minor damage to two vehicles trying to avoid the busy street side parking. We had to run and exchange a propane tank while bbq'ing because the main & spare tanks were empty. Lastly, although Mr. Patrick (owner) is very friendly, it was a bit offsetting to have him there (using garage as wood shop) from time to time while using the outdoor kitchen.
Oh, and as a firefighter (with bachelors in Occupational Safety & Health) I must say the hindrance of paddle locked doors that left only one means of egress on main level, was a bit unnerving.
Thank you very much Ron! I am so glad you like the house but am dismayed at some small problems you encountered. We have 2 very strong evaporative coolers for the house and the 3rd smaller one in a back bedroom meant as a fan to keep the nights cooled. When you told me that the room was being used during the day, I offered to have it hooked up to the water immediately for you. You declined our offer and now I wish we had insisted. The driveway angle is due to the recapping of the street. I discussed this with you before arrival and suggested that any cars that were low to the ground should park in front of the house. As you saw, most people on the street park in front of their houses and there is ample room.
I am very sorry about you needing to refill the propane for the grill and we have talked to our cleaning team about it. I offered to pay for it but,, again, you declined our offer. You had agreed to Patrick's use of the back garage before your stay....we are in the process of moving his workshop to our new house so that won't be happening in the future.
As to your egress statement, there are 2 separate exits on the 1st floor and 1 on the second floor out of the kitchen (plus coming down the stairs to the front door). On the 1st floor there is a main front door and the French doors leading outside from the dining room.
We do try so hard to please everyone and I'm sorry that this wasn't perfect for you.
Beautiful home in the heart of downtown!
My family and I had the most wonderful experience when we stayed at this lovely downtown property in the heart of Colorado Springs. We had some very memorable nights hanging out and having dinner on the outside patio and then taking a dip in the hot tub before retiring. All the beautiful trees in the backyard provided wonderful shade around the separate covered patio area. It has a great gas barbecue grill and kitchen area along with a large table for all my family and their guest to get together for dinner, drinks, and lively conversation. The house is a gem. The accommodations are very comfortable and welcoming. It had everything we needed and more. The owner went above what I expected and we were very welcomed! Colorado Springs is a very beautiful city and the stay in July was perfect weather to escape the heat of our hometown. I will be back!!! Thank you so much for opening your home and your hospitality! I highly recommend staying here, you won't be disappointed.
Karen, thank you so much! We are happy that you all enjoyed the house and that everyone was comfortable. It was a pleasure working with you. We'd love to have you back
Awsome Vacation Rental!
I highly recommend this property. The owner went overboard to insure our families great stay. My wife was celebrating her birthday and we had planned a large family reunion. Everything went well as the house accommodated everyone comfortably. The owner provided delicious fresh muffins for everyone and even provided fresh flowers for my wife.
