Quiet Sunny Garden apartment near Golden Gate park and UCSF

Bedrooms 1
Space 450 sq ft
Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 1 - 4 nights

About the property

1 bedroom, 1 shower tile full bath, full kitchen/living room. 450 sq ft

Our one bedroom newly renovated garden apartment is located two blocks from Golden Gate Park, approximately .7 miles from De Young Museum, Academy of Arts & Sciences, Japanese Tea garden, and the Botanical garden. It is on a quiet street near Irving and 9th shopping and restaurants. The N-Judah Muni stop is half a block away for easy access to downtown or to Ocean Beach. Its within walking distance to UCSF Parnassus campus. Sunday farmer's market is three blocks away on 9th Ave and Irving.

The space available is our in law unit on the bottom floor with about 450 sq ft of living space. It is furnished with a comfortable full sized bed, comforters and pillows, lova seat, small island with seating for two, a table (it can be made larger) with two chair that can be setup as a work space, two extra foldable chairs, 47 inch smart tv, wifi and hardwire ethernet jack, showered full bathroom, full kitchen with refrigerator and microwave. The space is comfortably suitable for two people and perhaps a small child could sleep on the loveseat.

For larger groups of more than 2 people (small extra fee per extra person) and up to 4, we provide the following two options for you:

1. Ikea blue BALKARK Sofa Bed that when open is 40" x 68" (See picture). It is more like a twin bed. I am 5' 6" and 160 lbs and I think that two of my size could sleep in this sofa bed fine. However, my wife disagrees.

2. A Queen sized inflatable bed.

You will have a private bottom floor entrance accessible with a keypad code. The unit is secure from the front, with only neighboring homes behind. You have a garden view and are welcome to enjoy the work in progress garden when it is usable. Once you make it to the garden, the unit is accessible with the same keypad code that was used to get into the building.

We live on the main house with our three kids. We are available for you if you need anything otherwise we don't plan to bother you. We provide clean sheets, towels, etc. and are happy to offer advice on local dining, transport, or activities.

-The unit is a ground floor unit. There are four steps down from sidewalk and a couple of steps from the garden into the unit.

-Please do not park in driveway. Street parking can be had with persistence within 3-4 blocks from apartment.

-You should know that, because this is a bottom floor unit, it is normal in this type of building to hear foot traffic of the people above you. If this will bother you, you may prefer staying in a hotel type situation.

-The unit's bedroom wall is shared with the garage. Even though, it is insulated, you will probably feel/hear when the garage door opens and closes. We have to use our car to take/pick-up our young one to/from daycare Monday through Friday at 7:30 am and 4:45pm

Use of the washer and dryer is included

This is a kids friendly apartment. I can provide a pack n play and a high chair.

Quiet Sunny Garden apartment near Golden Gate park and UCSF
average rating of 5.0 based on 3 reviews

Perfect for a San Francisco getaway

  • 5 of 5

Newly-renovated apartment next to a beautiful garden and beneath the main house. Luis and his family were nice and accommodating. The apartment was conveniently located near Golden Gate Park, restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores, and within easy driving distance to all the touristy spots. Street parking was sometimes a challenge to find, but we figured it out. My wife and I loved walking through the park during our downtime.

Beautiful, relaxing home in a quiet, walkable neighborhood with lovely hosts and community

  • 5 of 5

We were visiting for surgery at UCSF. This home was perfect! Everything is brand newly renovated with attention to detail and beautiful woodwork. The light from the huge windows and the garden view have such a relaxing effect. The kitchen has anything you would need, and the hosts are very responsive if you are looking for anything extra. We arrived to freshly ground coffee, wine, chocolate and flowers. So nice after a long day of travel. There’s lots of drawer and closet space, a sound machine, motion detector lighting in the front of house and hall leading to the apartment. The recessed lighting is nice. The garden is amazing. The hosts offer great recommendations and are very helpful and kind. The train is a block away. We rode it a few times. Lots of buses, but we didn’t use them. We used Uber to get to the hospital (about $4.00 for Uber pool, maybe a 3 minute drive ) because walking uphill was hard for my husband due to surgery , but found it easy to walk back. There’s a nice grocery store a block or so away. There are countless restaurants of at least 15 different types of ethnic cuisine within walking distance...also bakeries, coffee shops, ice cream, cute shops, friendly people. We spent lots of time wandering around Golden Gate Park. The botanical garden was our favorite. We found it easy to get to other parts of the city from here as well. We enjoyed being in this quiet area with lots of character. We didn’t want to leave.
