This beachfront oasis rests on the private and secluded St. Teresa Beach. St. Teresa is three miles of sprawling sugar sand on one of Florida's 41 aquatic preserves. Named “The Forgotten Coast”—this is truly one of the few unspoiled remaining hidden gems of Florida's coast!
The beach and the Gulf are just steps out the door from this modern, coastal cottage which was completely renovated in 2017. The home features 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an open concept living space and an outdoor shower.
As you enter the home you are greeted by a large gathering space with sweeping views of the water and beach. The kitchen features quartz counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and an island for guests to congregate. Ocean mist lower cabinets, boat cleat cabinet pulls, and ship lap walls give the room a coastal flair. Adjacent to the kitchen is the dining space with a large glass table that seats up to eight people and a large buffet for serving. The sitting area has a sleeper sofa as well as two accent chairs—a great place to gaze out onto the water and watch the world go by.
Next to the living space are two bedrooms each with their own en-suite bathroom. A third full size bath is adjacent to the kitchen as well. The guest room has 2 futons that makes into 2 full beds as well as a single bunk bed so this room offers sleeping for up to five guests. The master suite offers a king size bed and reading nook. The spacious master bath has two side by side sinks, a large shower, and direct access to the outdoor shower.

Quiet get away.
We enjoyed our stay at this remote little get away. The place was attractively decorated and clean. We loved being right on our own private beach. The house is very close to the neighboring houses on either side, so depending on whose staying at those may affect your quiet and privacy. We loved the eating recommendations from the owner and loved the pizza place in Sopchoppy, Angelo's up the road, and the Owl's Nest in Apalachicola. My husband enjoyed the golf at St. James. They really do have bears there, as they got into the trash one evening! My husband and I also got several little insect bites on our feet and ankles...not sure if it was something on the beach or in the house??
I am delighted you and your husband enjoyed your stay at St Teresa Beach. I appreciate you complimenting the property and am glad you enjoyed the newness of it. From the sound of the review, you liked the property and would recommend it for future renters.
I do want to address the areas of your concerns.
1. Most beach front communities are on narrower beach front lots. This is a 50 foot beach front lot and the neighboring houses are 20 to 25 feet apart. There's plenty of room to not feel on top of each other and you have your own private beach.
2. Bears- There are Florida Black Bears in the area but they are generally harmless and are afraid of humans but are attracted to garbage. There are locking bear proof garbage cans way down the driveway away from the house at the the main highway US 98. The bears do not hang out on the beach or around the house. Their habitat is the Apalachicola National Forest. During your stay, someone did not lock the bear proof garbage cans after putting garbage in them so a friend alerted me as he drove by on the highway. I sent my maintenance help to clean it up and secure the cans.
3. In regards to small insect bites. We're in Florida! The house does not have bugs or insects unless the doors are left open so you must have gotten bitten outside.
I'm thrilled that I can share my little slice of heaven with others.
Beautiful and peaceful!
This is a perfect home and location for a peaceful and relaxing weekend! Close to the pier for fishing. The beach view from the house is amazing!
We rented this cottage and Scott's larger home next door for our daughter's wedding. The newlyweds used the cottage. It is beautiful inside. Everything is brand new. They loved it. There are 2 bedrooms so there is plenty of room for a family. I can't say enough good things about Scott and his assistant, Ann. They are super people. This beach is beautiful and every local I had the opportunity to talk to were super nice. I would recommend this location to anyone who wants a relaxing getaway.
Fiddlers crab is a beautiful beachfront bonanza that came with 5 star hospitality even before I rented it. Mr. Olsen so graciously went out of his way to rent me the house at the last minute for a family emergency. Everything in the house is brand new and decorated beautifully. It is so close to the water you can smell the salty air. Even my father who was not able to walk on the beach was able to watch the dolphins swim by from the lounge chair in the living room. The view is phenominal. The beach is even better. St. Theresa's is a private beach that seems like your own. It is kid friendly and has great sandbars for exploring when the tide goes out. I met a few of the locals that really made us feel welcome. To top it off there were two local restaurants about 5 miles east in Panacea that served scrumptious seafood and a fabulous atmosphere. Go where the locals go ...Tropical Trader Seafood was the best. Next time I am near St Theresa Beach I am definetly going to request another stay at Fiddlers Crab. My entire family loved it and will cherish the memories we made for a lifetime!
