About Charlie and Margaret Repath
We are native San Franciscans who have lived in many beautiful places across the country while working for the National Park Service, such as Yosemite, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Rocky Mountains.
Charlie and Margaret Repath purchased this House in 2009
Why Charlie and Margaret Repath chose Mariposa
While working in Yosemite, we decided to buy property closer to Mariposa and make it our own. We love the mountains and the variety of activities the local community offers. Since 2015, we successfully rented this house as a vacation home. While working in Yosemite, we decided to buy property closer to Mariposa and make it our own. We love the mountains and the variety of activities the local community offers. Since 2015, we successfully rented this house as a vacation home. In 2018, we transitioned to a homestay operation where we live in the house and guests stay in our two extra bedrooms. Sometimes we still rent the entire house as a vacation rental.
What makes this House unique
The property is very private. We love working on the 12-acres to manage the natural landscape. Our favorite feature is the clear starry night sky, which is rare to see in California.

Quiet, Quaint and Beautiful.
Wonderful hosts, kind and welcoming with a wealth of wisdom and knowledge of the park make for a great couple to stay with. Charlie and Margaret are always willing to answer your questions and give recommendations for your visit. I enjoyed waking up and looking out over the hill sides. The drive to Yosemite or surrounding towns is absolutely gorgeous and will make you want to stop at every turn off and look at the view.
Wonderful to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and exploring the area. We pride ourselves on sharing our local knowledge with travelers. We look forward I your return.
Charlie & Margaret couldn’t have been any more pleasant or hospitable.
Their home was wonderfully set up for our stay, private bed and bathroom, as we were only guests.
We were forced to end our stay after one night, due to the Yosemite Park forest fire. This was completely out of Charlie & Margaret’s super-power reach as retired Park Rangers. They were friendly, personal, and we felt like we were with family.
We are glad you felt like family and were comfortable in our home, even with the unfavorable situation of the Ferguson Fire nearby. You were gracious and understanding with the unforeseen circumstance. We enjoyed the time we were able to spend with you. If you ever return to Yosemite, you have a place to stay.
It was clean and convenient to what we wanted to do
Charlie has a great wealth of knowledge of the area and has a very nice clean place to stay at
Our goal is to provide a comfortable and clean place for our guests exploring the Yosemite area. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us.
