About the Property
House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5) very private location
The house is set off from the road, so parking is easy for you and your guests. Kids can wander around the property safe from busy roads and you'll succumb to the stillness. Night star-gazing is at its best here, far from ambient street lighting.
Large picture windows from the living room and the outdoor patio afford fantastic views of Monument Mountain and Beartown State Forest. The house is oriented for the morning sunrise and will take your breath away. Guaranteed! The house is pristine and the property absolutely private.
Great hiking in the neighborhood, from Monument Mountain to Pfeiffer Arboretum. With permission from neighbors, there are lovely spots along the Williams River.
Located 7.5 miles from West Stockbridge exit of Massachusetts Turnpike the house is an easy find while screened from public view. It is a short distance to all the important Berkshire venues like Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Company, the Berkshire Theatre Festival, the Mahaiwe Theatre as well as great local restaurants, museums and cinema.
With approximately 1100 sq. ft. modern living space the house has two bedrooms: one in large loft area overlooking living-room (queen-size bed) with spectacular east views; another on first floor has a king-size bed that can be separated to two singles. The kitchen is new with granite counters, new dishwasher, stove and refrigerator. There is hardwood flooring throughout.
In the summer months, a screened gazebo makes for comfortable outdoor dining on the patio. A gas grill is provided. In winter, a wood burning stove keeps things cozy in the public areas though the house is centrally heated throughout.
A perfect hill close to the house allows for great sledding in the snowy winter months.
Without a doubt, a breathtaking location. Guests tell us that the photos don't begin to describe the setting.

Why Great Barrington, MA, USA:
We have 35 years of history in the Southern Berkshires and feel deeply connected to this community. Our son spent blissful summers as a boy with friends catching frogs along the nearby Williams River and racing up Monument Mountain. He learned to love "the Bard" from summers at Shakespeare and Company. The kids could explore outside all summer long, or sled down the hill to their hearts' content.
