Our home was built in 1934 and is referred to as a Sugar Shack. It has been remodeled yet maintains it's original charm. The home is situated on a flag lot off of Waiehu Beach Road, so it is very private. It has a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have King size beds and the third bedroom is set up as an office, which can be used as a bedroom for extra guests. We have neighbors on three sides with no neighbor in the back. There is a five hundred foot greenbelt between the back of the house and the ocean. A short five minute walk around the corner leads you to a private beachfront. It is located just a few short minutes to the local Hospital, the Maui Arts and Cultural Center, the Queen Kaahumanu Mall and various shops and Restaurants. You are surrounded by lush tropical gardens and the home is open and bright. There is a separate laundry room along with an outside deck with barbeque for entertaining or just soaking up the sun. You will find ample parking here on property for 2 cars.

About Scott & Michelle Smentek
We moved to Hawaii back in 2003 to the Island of Oahu. We raised our two daughters Codie Lou and Jennifer Rose and stayed there for thirteen years. Finally after they graduated High School we moved to the beautiful island of Maui. The locals say "Maui No Ka Oi" which means Maui is the best, and in our opinion they speak the truth. We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in January and did a staycation at our new house. We absolutely love it here!

Why Scott & Michelle Smentek chose Waihee-Waiehu
We chose this property because of its history and location. This area is referred to as Hawaiian Home Lands. Its sacred land and has the feeling of living in the country, yet the town is only 5 minutes away. Ka'ehu Bay is directly behind the house.
What makes this House unique
The house was built in 1934 and was originally owned by a boss at the local Dairy down the street. Back in the day when a boss retired from the Dairy, he was given the house. So the boss moved the original structure to it's current location. When we first saw the house we fell in love with it. When we walked around the corner to the beach and discovered Artisian Wells feeding into Taro beds and a stream full of prawns and bull frogs we knew we had truly found paradise! Scott is a surfer and there is a great surf spot called Sand Piles just up the road about a half mile. Surf season here on the North Shore runs from mid October through mid April. He also enjoys Lobster diving and spear fishing in the Fall, Spring and Summer months. There is awesome Whale watching from December through April and the Heiau up the hill, a five minute walk, is a great viewing location.

Very peaceful and clean
It is a beautiful house, very clean and spacious. Great place to do yoga and eat healthy (just 5 minutes to the local Whole Foods). The owners were very helpful and nice.
