This colonial home is a perfect peaceful getaway for families and small groups.
I grew up in a centuries old farmhouse in rural New York State that was full of character and stories. I was also drawn to the wilder parts of the fields and woods that surrounded it. This love of wild things blossomed into a passion for and career in outdoor and environmental education for young people, which also connected me to the man who eventually became my husband. We’ve raised our two sons with this same connection to wild places throughout our nation, such as the canyon country of southern Utah, the Cascade Mountains of the Northwest, and the Maine Woods. When we found this old 1774 house and the nature that surrounds it, we knew this was a place and an experience we wanted to share with others. We truly hope you discover the charm, relaxation, adventure and delight that we’ve found here.

Why Owner chose Pittsfield
Though we are new to VRBO, we have hosted guests for the past year. I have found that when people visit, and discover all that the Berkshires has to offer, The Wolf Tree is a part of that experience. It is a not only a centrally located launching point to Berkshire county but it is also a destination in itself. The Wolf tree is a place to be. It is a relaxing gate away surrounded by nature. The house itself is supplied with games, kitchen supplies, and coziness in every corner. This property is also first floor wheelchair accessible.
What makes this House unique
This Dutch Colonial House has the wonder and uniqueness of housing families for almost two and half centuries. Let your imagine wonder to how life was, as you stay in this updated house that has retained some of the characteristics of the past. See the old iron pot holder and brick oven in the living room where many meals were cooked over the hearth. Relax in the kitchen and dining room with the old beams and handmade beam pegs. There is a large yard with a nice fire ring to roast marshmallows and sing a tune or two. Take a hike down to the small creek where a previous guest caught six trout while fly fishing, or explore the woods beyond the creek by crossing logs that have fallen over it. In the evenings listen to the owls hoot and the coyotes sing in concert. This is a wonderful place to come to and stay.
