About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

This 4 bedroom home is a boater's dream located on a direct access canal in Marco Island. You are minutes away from the Marco River which leads directly to the Gulf. The property has a boat dock and fish cleaning table. Bring your own boat or rent form nearby marinas. Marco has several public beaches which are a short drive by car. Our home's address is 920 Iris Court.

The screened in heated pool has a propane grill and plenty of outdoor patio furniture. The house is on a quiet residential street and is very private. There are numerous bikes available for use in the garage, even several kids bikes and a tag-a-long. There are some beach chairs and beach toys available and also some young children's toys.

This house is great for two families with two bedrooms on each side of the house. There is a large dining table in the Florida room and bar seating in the kitchen. We have a 42 inch TV in the living room with DVD. All bedrooms have TV's and cable is included. We have a phone in the house for local calling only. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Often times dolphins and manatee can be seen right out front in the canal. Explore the ten thousand islands, take an airboat ride in the Everglades or relax on the beach or poolside.

Great Location, Good Villa But Dirty and Dated

  • 3 of 5

The Villa is in a great position, however let down by being very dated and a number of issues regarding cleanliness. For example, pool area very dirty, rubbish/junk left all around the property, including cigarettes/lighters outside and under the beds. Some bedding/towels are threadbare, Fridge was dirty and needed a good clean before using, blood on under-bedding, many light bulbs not working around the house. A kettle would be useful for making tea (could be a British thing though). Some tools to fix/adjust the bikes (a bonus having bikes, but not having to fix them before use).

No mention that one of the bedrooms/en-suite does not have window and therefore very dark.

Great pool, heating not on, but not needed! Good to see the Dolphins and Manatee from the dock.

Overall we felt that the property would benefit from a total redecoration and modernization.

Owner's Response: This renter never complained until after the rental was complete. They gave us no chance to address cleanliness issues. We replace bedding every year in the fall. Summer rentals are typically large families which can be rough on bedding. We offer a great spot on Marco Island at a terrific value . This renter had 6 adults for less than $1,000 for a week. 6 adults at the Marriott on the island needing three rooms would be $1,000/night. We have had 11 weeks rented since our winter renter left and this is the only complaint we have received.

Spacious Vacation Home on Marco

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have rented in several locations on Marco, but for the last seven years, we have loved staying at 920 Iris Court! It is a beautiful home that offers unusual spaciousness with four bedrooms and three full baths. The interior is clean, attractive and an open design that compliments the beautiful view of the deck, pool, and channel. The kitchen and laundry are are modern and well equipped. Conveniences such as WiFi, Cable TV's in many rooms, printer and most importantly, a heated pool are provided. We also love fishing off the pier and catching many of the ocean's curiosities. We have seen both manatees and dolphins in the canal. The owners are responsive and gracious and attend to any questions or needs.

The location on Marco Island is a perfect gateway to many Florida highlights. On the island don't miss Tigertail Beach, or sunset at Marriott's Quinn's restaurant. Also, we love eating at the entertaining Snook Inn and for a little bit of Key West flavor don't miss Le Be Fish just around the corner from the Snook. Marco is located between fabulous shopping and eating in Naples and the relaxed experience of the Everglades.

We love this home, the beautiful setting, friendly neighbors, gracious hosts, and fabulous beaches...., and did I mention the heated pool! We will be back next year!

Wonderful home for family gathering.

  • 5 of 5

Our family decided to try something different for Christmas, a get away. We rented this lovely home on Marco island, where it would be warmer and near the beach. From the start it was the best experience I have had renting on VRBO. The owners were prompt and answered all my questions. The house has a dated decor which I knew from the pics. However it was clean, comfortable, spacious and perfect for our holiday gathering. I loved the open concept with the spacious sun/dinning room, living room and kitchen that allowed us all to be together. Yet there were small seating areas that allowed for quiet conversations. We had 2 dogs and 8 people staying there ranging from 4 yo to 82 yo and never once did we feel crowded!

The heated pool and Lanai were great. My 4yo granddaughter spent 5 hours straight, in the pool, only getting out to use the restroom, then right back in! We gathered there in the afternoons to enjoy each other and the sunsets. We loved having our morning coffee on the Lanai. The views of the canal were relaxing and peaceful.

The master bedroom was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Everyone else enjoyed their rooms too.

We loved how close Publix was to the house for our shopping needs. The location makes for easy access to anywhere you want to go on the island or off.

On a few occasions during our stay, we called the owners with questions. Never once did they seem to mind, even though it was during the holidays. They always got right back to us and were most helpful. It almost felt like we were renting from our friends. The house came equipped with bicycles, which did not get used as often as we thought, but it was wonderful having them.

We had a wonderful Christmas vacation at this home away from home. The fact that we could bring our 2 little fur babies with us, meant that no one in our family was left out of the fun! I would highly recommend a visit to this comfortable and spacious home. The owners were very accommodating and easy to work with. I would love to have the opportunity to come back again and pray that it is in my future!

Great Home for large family!

  • 4 of 5

Just got back from a marvelous week in Marco Island. This home was perfect for our larger family. Lot of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. The kids loved the pool and fishing from the dock in the back yard! Owners are super nice and very easy to work with, they were always just a phone call away. We rented boats from Rose Marina close by and had the best seafood dinner at The Pelican Bend restaurant near by. This house is a must for anyone looking for a great location and reasonable price. We hope you and your family have as much fun as ours did!
