Overview

About the property

This warm and inviting cabin is light-filled and comfortable. It sits on 1 1/2 treed acres and has quick and easy access to main roads with amenities and many wonderful attractions nearby. Both bedrooms are spacious with plenty of closet space and the master has a small, private deck off of it. The other bedroom has a built-in bunk and access above the top bunk to a children's hideaway young kids will love. This home has a separate eating room by the kitchen and a door leading out to another deck with a propane grill. An electric fireplace in the living room adds warmth and ambience to the welcoming area with reclining couches and armchair. A deck, with a charming little patio at one end, extends across the front of the house. It looks onto a large fenced area that includes a fire pit. Just outside the fence are horseshoe pits. This property will also delight children with a tree swing and woodsy playhouse that has steps leading to a kid's "look-out". In addition to plenty of seating on the decks, benches are scattered around for more places to enjoy your mountain experience. The cabin sleeps 5 in beds. There is covered parking and plenty of driveway space for a camper or RV. Homestead Haven is ideal for just sitting and relaxing or using as a base for exploring Colorado and all that it has to offer.

Home Away From Home

  • 5 of 5

This place is fantastic! When we walked through the front door you get a feeling of home. This home is truly inviting with the fenced in yard surrounded by pine trees, wild grass, and deer and multiple decks to just sit and take it all in. You have all the amenities of home and then some.

There is plenty of room, you can be gone all day and come back and fix dinner, watch TV, get on the Internet, or just sit outside after dinner and just enjoy the surroundings. There are plenty of movies, books, and games for the kids to enjoy as well.

The owners are incredibly responsive and will also check in with you to see if you need anything.

I would highly recommend this home. I hated to leave.

Thank you Jennifer & Dan for creating such a wonderful get- away home. Your place is just awesome and we had a great time staying there.

Wonderful, beautiful, peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time at the cabin! Everything we needed was provided and the cabin was clean and well taken care of. The kids loved the secret crawl space above the bunk beds, the swings, and all the games and toys. We saw a family of deer, even a couple of young baby's, right out front both days we stayed. Would love to come back again!

The cabin was all that we expected and more!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was all that we expected and more! Everything was neat and clean. It was priced right for the value we received. We really liked the welcome basket that was for us. It was a fun surprise! The owners communicated with us very well and were quick to respond with any questions we had. It was a quiet place for us to relax. Having free wifi was really nice for our family. Being able to use the washing machine and dryer and laundry detergent was very much appreciated. We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend it. It is a great place for families with children of all ages.

Perfectly located spacious base camp cabin for adventures east, west, north, or south.

  • 5 of 5

Coming from the midwest lowlands we felt the altitude as soon as we arrived but adjusted in the coming days. Great location to springboard to different areas. The accommodations were perfect for our family of 4 plus two dogs. Very well stocked with kitchen supplies, games, extra blankets, books, etc. Cabin was very clean and organized. Lots of closet space and many amenities. Adequate wifi, good washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Great layout with small deck off main bedroom, another small deck with grill off the kitchen, and a very large deck in front with fenced in area for pets. Several unique spots to sit outside, play horseshoes, or set up a hammock for relaxing. The top bunk bed also revealed a spot to climb up into a secret hideaway for the kids(or adventurous adults). Comfortable beds and furniture. Covered car port was nice as we got late afternoon rain and hail. A big mule deer laying down welcomed us as we arrived one afternoon. Heard Elk bugling in the morning. Owners were very responsive to questions and even offered suggestions for our trip as we were newcomers to the area. Scenic drive to the cabin and surrounding area. If you're looking for a place slightly off the beaten path yet close enough to civilization this is it. About 20 minutes to either Woodland Park for groceries or Mueller State Park for hiking/biking. The afternoon rain and subsequent sun graced us with the most beautiful rainbow right over the cabin one day! Highly recommend this place for the accommodation itself, the location, and the responsiveness of Jennifer and Dan, the owners. Great stay!
