Four bedroom, 3 bathroom house with updated kitchen and filtered lake view.
This meticulously maintained four bedroom, three bath cabin is 1.5 miles south of Tahoe City. Located in a quiet upscale neighborhood, you can see the blue waves of Lake Tahoe through a fringe of pine trees from the living area and sunny back deck.
You will love the open beam ceiling with skylights and the truly remarkable collection of vintage sports equipment that decorate the home.
The house is situated on a lot with large trees, a great sled run in the backyard and access to a trail leading to the Paige Meadows trail complex for summer hiking, winter Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing just three blocks away. It is within twenty minutes of three major downhill ski resorts (Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Homewood) and two groomed Nordic ski areas. It is also located less than three blocks from an entrance to a very extensive wilderness Nordic ski area. The walk to Tahoe City is along a paved bike path that circles much of Lake Tahoe. We are one mile from Kilner Park which has tennis courts and children’s play equipment. Commons Beach in Tahoe City has an extensive children’s play area. We are a five minute drive from River Rafting and Tahoe City.
There is really good coffee at the bottom of our hill and we are close to grocery stores, restaurants, shops and all the amenities you could wish for.

About Jennifer Keith
Hi, we are Amy, Tim and Jennifer Our parents, Kathy and Nick, built our Tahoe Cabin in 1977. Skiing is one of the great passions of our father's life and having the cabin has allowed him and our families the opportunity to not only ski, but also enjoy the wonder of all that Lake Tahoe offers. Our parents have now passed along this wonderful house to us, their children and we aspire to appreciate it and maintain it as well as our parents and preserve it for the enjoyment of many families in the future.
Jennifer Keith purchased this House in 1977
Why Jennifer Keith chose Sunnyside
Our parents chose this location because it is close to so many fun things and of course the ski areas. We think you will love the house and especially the location.
What makes this House unique
This house is a sanctuary and a wonderful retreat from the City. There's so much to do around the area and also the possibility of doing so little. Just hanging out and reading a book, with the lake and the mountains in the background is a treat. The kitchen is great for cooking. There are enough beds and bathrooms that everyone can have their own space, even when it's an extended family or group of friends staying there.

Tahoe Winter Ski Vacation
We enjoyed our stay at your Cabin! It was nice and cozy. I like the separate entrance where we put our skis and boards and sleds. Rooms were nice and plenty of space. The only issues we had were the internet was spotty and the downstairs was hot while the upstairs was cool? Great location:) and we all loved the "old" ski memorabilia. The view to the lake was beautiful!!!
We will rent this place again in the future:)
Great location and convenient to get to.
A very nice and rustic feel. We’ve stayed at properties nearby and the thing we might have loved the most is it was very clean and well maintained. We’d definitely come back.
Wonderful experience for the whole family
Or host replied promptly to any questions we messaged her about. The cabin was very clean. My wife and I have six children and there was more than enough cooking utensils, plates, cups, etc. Grill had propane, wood for fireplace, toiletries, it was great. We showed up with luggage and groceries and never had to go to the store. We will be returning and referring our friends and family.
Generally ok experience but had issues.
front door wasn't repaired, towels in cupboards smelled musty, spiders found in 2 bedrooms, one guest had a bite on her back we believe was a spider bite.
Was a good floor plan for the size of our family, close to town, good beds, nice view that included the lake.
I'm sorry this renter wasn't happy. I had explained to him in advance that one of the doors was boarded shut because we had a bear break in and were waiting for the new door to arrive. We have since installed a bear repellent system and don't anticipate any more issues. Not a lot I can do about the spiders. We have a fantastic cleaning service, but they only come in to clean after guests have left and spiders work on their own schedule. :) I've never had feedback that the towels smelled musty, but will address that with the cleaning service.
Served our purpose in size and Location
We were part of a large family reunion (+80) which gets together every two years. For the last three years we have had these reunions in Lake Tahoe. We choose to rent rather than staying in Grandlibakken Resort because we prefer the privacy, serenity and space, primarily, but also due to medical considerations. The cabin had everything we needed for a restful (if possible) 5 days. The bed off the kitchen was very comfortable. The attached bathroom was with two-sinks was more than adequate. The kitchen had most of what was needed for our stay. The large table became a great family gathering place for important discussions. The days were hectic to the extent that we were not able to use the deck and bbq as most dinners were offsite. On the negative, and certainly no one's fault. We had a very unusual heat wave. The cabin is not air-conditioned as most are not and the skylight only made it worse. The inside of the cabin was very warm. Jennifer was kind enough to provide options, which included purchasing a floor fan to augment the ceiling fan and be reimbursed. We did purchase a fan, but we needed one, so we brought it home with us. In the evening, we kept the windows open and the cabin cooled down considerably. However, the window screens in the down stair bedrooms need replacing. My granddaughter could not open the windows because the screens were inadequate. In winter this is not a problem, but in the Summer it's essential as you need to keep the bugs out. The legs on the foosball are wobbly. There were cobwebs on all of the rafters, particularly in the Living Room and master bedroom. Finally, if you have problems with stairs, this is not the place for you. There are twenty steps total to negotiate inside and out. As a senior with health issues, this was a chore for me. The partial lake view was awesome. The TV worked well, and sitting in the living room was very relaxing. It was nice being close to Grandlibakken to see our relatives when we wanted to. I even made dinner for 65 of them at the cabin and transported everything to the resort because the oven at the townhouse kitchen was broken. I felt very comfortable using the cabin kitchen where everything worked. I had checked with Jennifer prior to arriving concerning kitchen equipment I would need and if it was not available, I brought my own. Overall, it was a very positive stay, with the exception of unusual heat. The local hardware store even ran out of fans.
Thanks so much for your thoughtful review. We normally have a big family "cleaning weekend" over Memorial Day where the whole family gets together to deep clean the cabin and take care of any repairs or updates. We actually got booked that weekend for the first time in our history and the whole month of June was booked as well (which is pretty unusual), which is great news, but necessarily delayed our cleaning weekend until the fall. The issues you raise will be checked out and dealt with thoroughly then. Thank you!
Winter: we have a great sled hill or there are two other really good ones close by; skiing - close to Homewood, Alpine and Squaw; Cross Country ski trail - 3 blocks away; Ice skating - at Squaw Valley. Summer: Hiking - 3 blocks from trail to Paige Meadows; River rafting on the Truckee River - 5 min. drive; Water sports - 2 marinas less than 10 min. drive.; Walk to town in 30 min.; Biking - right up the road from the bike trail; Miniature golf - 2 great courses within a half hour; Golf - right in town.
