About Bill & Pam Matlock
We purchased this fishing cabin and have enjoyed adding on and decorating it in a style worthy of its history. We want to share its story with others who enjoy Kentucky Lake and love our heritage. The story of the log cabin as told to us is the logs from the original cabin were floated down the river from Livingston County and assembled here on this spot by a man in love. He intended the cabin to be a getaway for he and his bride. Sadly she died prior to the cabin being finished. The man never stayed here. It was eventually sold to a nature guy who loved the area wildlife. He enjoyed it and the lake for many years with his buddies.
Why Bill & Pam Matlock chose Gilbertsville
If you appreciate and respect nature and the way of life of generations past, come sit a spell on our porch! We even have a feather bed if you'd like to give it a try!
What makes this House unique
We have truly loved meeting our guests at the cabin. It is so rewarding to have others enjoy and appreciate this little piece of paradise. If you want to build unique memories of your stay on Kentucky Lake, come enjoy this 1860's log cabin. We know you'll love the experience.
