Nice room. Pretty mountain view.

This two night stay was our first experience booking VRBO property without the help of our adult children. I fortunately had actually arrived in Reno a full day ahead of my wife. I arrived at the resort hotel earlier than the approved check in time. I phoned the owner from the parking lot to make sure that everything was set for check in. I realized at that time that I had never paid the second amount due before arriving. I was in a panic when the owner confirmed that I had failed to pay the invoice. I don't believe I ever received the invoice but the owner was exceptionally responsive, and accommodating. He phoned the resort to make arrangements and called back within minutes to confirm my stay since the unit was still available. I really appreciate his availability and willingness to remedy what could have been a very bad situation. The room had not been fully serviced yet but that may have been because they weren't expecting me! The housekeeping staff was down the hall and immediately apologized and prioritized the servicing.

As non-smokers, we forgot what it's like to walk through a hotel lobby past a casino. As other reviewer's have commented, there is a fair amount of smoke smell in the lobby on the open sides of gaming areas. This unit however is on an upper floor and had a fresh smell. It is well decorated and comfortable. It appears to be located away from other casinos but near the highway and only a few exits to the others.

Overall, our experience was great and we would stay again.

It is what it is.

HomeAway, why no other option than "I loved it!" or "Not really"? This room was exactly what it is: a room in a casino. I neither loved it nor hated it--it was what to be expected in such a place. It was on the 18th floor, so far enough away from any casino noise, so quiet at night. The food in the casino was OK, but no better than that. If you're into all the gaudy amenities of a casino--we're not--then this place is fine. PLEASE NOTE: the only "surprise" for us was that once we had booked the room, we THEN found out that we would have to pay an additional and rather substantial "resort fee", even though we used none of the casino's facilities, didn't gamble, and paid for the meals ourselves.

For a fraction of the price, you get a great room with all the same amenities you would get as a "hotel" guest.
