About DP Fairbanks

We have lived in the area for 35 years and maintain this property to preserve the area.

DP Fairbanks purchased this cottage in 2000

Why DP Fairbanks chose Southwest

The Parsonage House was built in 1860 and was the Parsonage to the Methodist Church in Pier Cove during the 1860’s and 1870’s. It is one of the oldest buildings in Allegan County.

Guestbook comments from the owner

"I enjoyed my time in the Parish house. The living room is especially comfortable, soothing and has a little sense of others in the room with you!

The bed! It felt like what I would view as a Shaker bed....and for me it was too hard. The workshop was fabulous, the people wonderful. We made good use of all the fresh vegetables and fruit around.

The surrounding beauty is superb. I like the cat that comes around, the hummingbird, deer and robin that showed up most days. I appreciate your sharp interest and keen eye for making it work for us, and it did.

Thank you for it all.

Perfect retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at the parsonage house. The home is a short walk to the shore of Lake Michigan, an easy drive to the shops and restaurants of Saugatuck, surrounded by woods and wildlife, well appointed, clean and stocked with all you need in the kitchen to put together a quick dinner. Perfect retreat!

Great weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at the Parsonage with friends in June. We loved the wooded setting, and enjoyed the historic nature of the house. It was very comfortable for the four of us. It was a great home base for exploring Fennville and the surrounding area. Daphne was very helpful and easy to work with. Would stay here again!

Peaceful Getaway

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for two relaxing nights at this lovely home. Daphne was very friendly and informative. Very professional and ready to help with any issue. The area is beautiful and there is plenty to do and see nearby. My girlfriend and I went into Saugatuck and tried the Mexican restaurant. Saugatuck is a one of a kind place to visit. Such a unique town. We had a great time!

The only thing I think could be improved is the living room furniture. It was very stiff and uncomfortable. However, Daphne is the type of owner that is constantly making improvements and she has done a beautiful job on the house so far. Great place to unwind!!!

Relaxing Weekend

  • 5 of 5

What a great place for a relaxing weekend! Daphne was very responsive and kind. Her restaurant recommendations were outstanding too. The house is even nicer in person - very clean, comfortable, and surrounded by trees. It's a short drive to wineries, restaurants and shopping as well as a short walk to the lake. We watched incredible sunsets during our stay. This was the first time I've booked through vrbo. Daphne's customer service will be hard to beat!

Sister's weekend

  • 4 of 5

The Parsonage House was a great spot for our sister's weekend. We were able to roast hot dogs and marshmallows over the fire pit, walk to the beach, watch the sunset, and play games. The house was very comfortable- we loved sleeping upstairs -almost like summer camp! Daphne was wonderful- she met us at the house to explain everything and answer any questions. We hope to return again next year!

Perfect getaway

  • 4 of 5

This was a wonderfully equipped home. Full of charm and character. The location is private and convenient to everything the area has to offer. We could walk down to the beach and swim in Lake Michigan. Run down the tree lined lakeshore drive. Hang out on the lovely patio for morning coffee, dinner, evening fires, crafts at the picnic table....

Drove into town for the paved bike path from saugutuck to holland. A wonderful ride that is!

The saugutuck beaches, area restaurants, orchards, dunes all make for an amazing stay! And the parsonage was a great home base!

Daphne is so lovely and easy to work with!
