Cozy Winter Stay
My fiancé and I stayed here for a month in January 2018 and had a blast. The apartment was stocked with everything we needed, from a laundry hamper to cleaning supplies and everything conceivable for cooking. The property is on a steep hill that gets plowed during commuting hours. My 2016 Toyota Corolla would sometimes struggle to make it up the hill, but it was do-able, and Fran and Rosemary always promptly cleared the driveway. We would definitely go back.
Thanks so much for these wonderful comments about your stay, which encompassed an almost record-breaking cold spell with a Nor'easter.
We're so pleased that you took advantage of all Peaceful Waters has to offer -- even in winter -- to make your time here with us as cozy as possible.
You certainly were wonderful guests and we hope you can return so you can enjoy the sunroom, patio and Pontoosuc Lake free of ice.

This is a cozy and nicely decorated property close to everything
We booked our trip the last minute and Fran was very nice to accommodate our last-minute changes. The property is nicely decorated with everything we needed. Mt Greylock is close by and we did a lot of hiking. Perfect for a family of four.
Thank you for the lovely comments about our Peaceful Waters getaway.
It always brightens our day to learn our guests enjoyed our place as well as all the beautiful Berkshires have to offer.
We hope you'll be able to visit us again.

Cozy Central location to explore the Berkshires
My husband and I had not been to the Berkshires in many years and we were able to explore both north and south of Pittsfield during our four night stay. Francis and Rosemary's home is situated on a hill above Lake Pontoosuc. The cozy, quiet apartment is attached to their home, but has a private entrance where you can enjoy a small patio with lake views and park in a covered spot in the driveway. The apartment was set up with everything you might need for your stay including a washer and dryer and dishwasher! Francis and Rosemary were very helpful and responsive to all of our questions. Although the apartment does have a pull out sofa and another couch in the living room, we thought it might be cramped with more adults, though it would be great for a family. We brought up a kayak and were hoping to spend more time at the lake but the weather was cool. Several neighbors share access to the lake and we were able to leave our kayak there. The dock was in need of repair and the lakeside access was hilly with only a small grassy area but it was easy enough to put the kayak in, and we went for a lovely boat outing on the lake and one pleasant swim on a warm day. Really loved the driving range which was down the street, the Old Forge Restaurant nearby, Ramblewild, Mt Greylock, and the great local ice cream place, Krispy Cones, all within a few minutes of Peaceful Waters.
Dear Dorothy and Evans,
Thank you for such a thoughtful review.
We're delighted that you were able to take advantage of all Peaceful Waters has to offer to make your stay pleasant and comfortable.
(Just to clarify -- the living room contains only one queen sofa bed.)
We're also delighted that you found our location the ideal portal to all your activities -- from food to fun.
This area offers so many things to do and see, it is impossible to list them all.
Sorry that a Jet Ski wreaked the dock that is shared by all who live on the street -- but seldom used -- right before your arrival and that the new neighbor never told us. Sadly, due to this uncertainty we've removed dock access from our listing. While the dock will still be there, we can no longer trust that any repairs we make -- once again-- will last given the behavior of our neighbor!
We're glad at least that you were able to enjoy the water in your kayak.
We hope you'll visit us again,
Fran and Rosemary

It gives us great pleasure to know you enjoyed your stay.
You were terrific guests and hope you have time for a longer "Peaceful" stay in the not too distant future.
Fran and Rosemary
I went up to the Berkshires to see a show at Barrington Stages, with my mom and friend. I'm really happy I found Peaceful Waters for our trip! It was about 10-15 minutes away from the theater, and was much nicer than staying at a traditional hotel. The suite was just as pictured, cozy, comfy, and relaxing! Loved the decor- all moose and bears! The beds were comfortable, and it was so nice to sit in the sunroom with a view of the beautiful gardens and the lake. I only wish we had stayed longer than 2 nights! I definitely recommend staying here, if you are looking for a nice, quiet, relaxing time.
Thanks again to Francis and Rosemary!
