About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

If you are looking for the amenities of a new house in a historic shell, Lucinder is your Belle. This house is the product of an eighteen-month long radical remodel that focused meticulous attention to the reinvigoration of an old design, with an emphasis on the integration of indoor and outdoor space. The result is a cook's dream and relaxing oasis, with beautiful views of the Cascades and Downtown Bend.

Lucinder consists of two bedrooms and one bathroom with vintage-inspired ceramic tiles and bath. The kitchen is the heart of this house, surrounded with windows and adjacent to the enormous outdoor deck that sits high above Lava Road. The stainless appliances and bountiful Paperstone countertops offer endless possibilities for entertaining and relaxing. The living room with vaulted ceiling and hand-plastered walls, is furnished with mid-century designer pieces and lookout onto the historic neighborhood of Northwest Georgia Road.

Other features of Lucinder include gas heat, central air conditioning, custom lighting, JennAir gas range, Bosch dishwasher, maple floors throughout, washer and dryer, custom blinds, wireless internet, Smart TV, and easy accessibility to downtown. There is off-street parking for two cars and ample street parking.

Pets are welcome. The yard is fenced.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in Lucinder for four nights right after the new year. First of all, this house is historic but feels so new inside. There is tons of counter space in the lovely kitchen. The beds are wonderful. The house is so clean and so well maintained. Our dog was ecstatic in the huge, secure yard. Our kids even rode sleds in the yard. The luxury of being right in downtown and yet having space and privacy - I did not expect that. We didn't cook often because it was so easy to just walk to McMenamins or walk to Jackson's Corner (both of which are great with kids). We will be back.

An adorable house, Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This review is long over due, I stayed 12 days at Lucinder and enjoyed myself very much. The short walk DT is great, the neighborhood is quiet and Bend, Oregon is a great place to vacation. I'll be spending time here again, Lavabelle's was easy to deal with and overall I had a great vacation!

The house was completely updated, very cozy, and so, so CUTE (very tastefully decorated)! We loved how central this house is to everything. It was a quick and easy walk down town and to Drake Park. It was great to come home to Lucinder after our adventures and prepare dinner, take a shower, bathe the kids, and even do some laundry when needed. The neighbors were very friendly and laid back too! We loved our stay, and hope to stay again!

Great Stay this July

  • 5 of 5

I stayed with Lavabelles this past July during a week long summer trip to Bend. The house I stayed in was great, the furniture was very modern and it had nice classic pictures and art. It didn't feel like a stuffy rental that hasn't been updated in years. It also didn't feel like you were intruding on someone else's vacation house with all their crap around. It had a professional feel.

I also found Cara, the manager, to be extremely helpful and available. All in all one of the best vacation rental properties I've stayed at. Highly recommended.

I love Bend - I love Lavabelles

  • 5 of 5

We come to Bend often and have stayed in several homes. I appreciate the clever, small businesses, such a this one. We loved the house. My wife particularly loved the decor. So nice to have such high quality bedding and such a clean house. One thing I didn't realize about the house from the description is the proximity to everything. You can walk two blocks and be at the coffee shop or four blocks and be at the Patagonia shop. We enjoyed the hot tub and the large yard and the covered front porch, even in the snow. Booking the house, checking in, checking out - all seamless. Love working with Cara and Shannon.

Super-fine digs in the heart of Bend

  • 5 of 5

This pad blends the best of many worlds -- 21st century furnishings, appliances and high-end touches in a renovated classic home; a location that both lets you stroll into town (2-5 minute easy walk) to enjoy all of Bend's cafes, shops, restaurants AND easy access to roads to head out of town to the mountains, the lakes, the rivers and all the beauty of the surrounding outdoor areas; two decks, one upstairs with a great gas grill for awesome al fresco dining and another down by the bodacious private hot tub. Oh, did I mention that the beds are awesome and that, depending upon the weather and your preference, you can choose to sleep with the well-screened windows open or with the central air on? I've stayed and rented VRBOs across the US and Canada, as well as in properties in the UK and France, and Lucinder is primo.
