2BR 1040SF in residential neighborhood near golf, hiking and 15 minutes to town
About Beth Simpson
In 1966 I came to Anchorage as a young adult for three years and am still here and loving the various seasons and the lifestyle. My children were raised here and luckily have remained Alaskans. The people are the best; really friendly and interesting. I have been in the real estate business, both lending and sales, since 1974.
Beth Simpson purchased this House in 2016
Why Beth Simpson chose Huffman / O' Malley
South Anchorage is my favored part of town with easy access to everything there is to do. I like ranch style properties and this duplex is on a nearly 17,000SF lot in a quiet residential area. It is also near schools, parks, trails, golf and hiking.
What makes this House unique
Most of South Anchorage is single family houses both in developed subdivisions and more rural hillside acreage lots and it is not too common to find duplexes so when this ranch style duplex came on the market I snapped it up. It had just had new cabinetry and appliances upgraded, as well as laminate flooring and the bathroom. Deciding to do VRBO offers visitors a peaceful place to stay while exploring all of Anchorage, the Mat Valley and the Kenai Peninsula.

A home away from home, with thoughtful amenities and an unbeatable price!
We, one father and two adult daughters, cannot thank Beth enough.
This was both our first time to Alaska, and, our first family vacation. We had the unfortunate luck of landing our first night at the Barrett Inn (a frightening experience). Beth rescued us with an early check to unit A (the left duplex dwelling).
Our first impression of the neighborhood was that it seemed safe and quiet.
Walking in we were greeted by a bench (for shoe storage) and coat rack (for those many raining days). The decor is Wayfair, almost a Tiffany blue theme. EVERYTHING was provided (detergent, cleaning supplies, shampoo/soap/conditioner, and even sandwich baggies!). Our next thought was, "We are never leaving."
The heating system worked within minutes to warm every room. Plenty of storage, linens and towels were available, even extra sleeping mats for friends.
We connected to the WiFi without any delay. Television wasn't necessary, with so many fabulous adventures waiting minutes away (or no more than a 2 hour drive).
Though we didn't see much wildlife, the yard was an inviting atmosphere full of lush grass and guarded by a thick tree line to dampen road noise. When the sun briefly shone, we lounged on the back porch imaging we were early homesteaders, making home cooked meals and art as a family.
We truly LIVED in Anchorage for a week, in our home-away from our drastically different homes (Vegas, Joshua Tree and San Francisco). Beth made our stay comfortable, and was easy to talk to, like extended family. We hope you choose her to host your next visit to Alaska!
Lovely bungalow, perfectly comfortable and inviting. Beth was kind and helpful and little extras made a big difference in making it a great stay.
Clean, cozy, and great hostess!
The space was spotless, well decorated and stocked (toilet paper, huge soft towels, parking, washer/dryer, shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom, fireplace, great back yard, etc), and had plenty of room. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of plugs near our beds to charge electronics. Extra mats and bedding available for two more people. The host was great at communicating. We loved the lockbox for check in/out on our own. Amazing place!
Very enjoyable place to stay. Decorated nicely
Wonderful to work with owner. She was so accommodating and pleasant. The residence was very nice. We would stay there again on a return trip.
Garry & Cheryl arrived just after the weather had turned from glorious to nasty with winds and rain. They had such a good attitude about making the most of what it was. They were ideal guests and I hope they get some better weather on the remainder of their trip. You could hardly tell anyone had been in the space when they left!
Well located in South Anchorage to access golf, hiking, trail access, zoo, heading out to Seward, Homer and activities on the Kenai Peninsula. Just about 15 minutes to most things you will want to do in Anchorage. Grocery, banking, restaurants and other services within 1-2 miles.
