About Renee Chenault Fattah
I am a mom, wife, daughter and good friend to my Bffs. After 25 years working in tv news and 3 years practicing law, I am now working on a documentary about alzheimer’s In communities of color. My oldest is a freshman in college, my youngest an 8th grader who does not want to spend weekends in the Poconos with her mom. So it made sense to share this beautiful home with others.
Renee Chenault Fattah purchased this House in 2012
Why Renee Chenault Fattah chose Shohola
I had always wanted a vacation home in the Carribean. The Poconos is not the Carribean but this house is so unique . it is not for everyone-it’s quirky design and open spaces can be a deterrent to some who like more traditional venue. But no matter your taste, the views of the mountain cliffs, the trees and the roar of the Upper Delaware make it a magical place. Be warned it is isolated, and dark at night. But I have, on many occasions, traveled there by myself as a 60 year old woman and never felt unsafe or had a problem. It is a perfect escape.
What makes this House unique
I fell in love with the house when I walked through the glass front doors went to the left and down a hallway and was greeted with a floor to ceiling window that opened onto a mountain and The Delaware River. I sometimes sit on the steps going up to the master bedroom and get lost in the view. There are great views from every room .

Beautiful home overlooking the Delaware, nice view but cannot get to the river unless you are a spelunker.
That said lovely time had by all fawns in the morning and eagles at dusk.
Beautiful home with great views
My wife and I along with 2 of our grown daughters stayed for 3 nights along with our 2 year old yellow labrador. It is a great secluded property, a beautiful large home with fantastic views of the Delaware River from the many windows. Really enjoyed the huge outdoor fireplace. Theres a lot to do in the area, we went rafting on the Delaware and also hiked to Raymondskill Falls. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this property.
The house is amazing! Such an interesting design set against the tranquil Delaware River. It was so serene. The owner, Renee, was very helpful in assisting our family to make the most out of our trip!
So amazing so wonderful !
The property was clean and the atmosphere was inviting ! We can’t wait to come back again!
House and view are amazing!
We spent our Christmas in this house and it was absolutely amazing. The house is beautiful and the view is breath taking. Since day 1 we fell in love with it. Its a very open space, the design is great and there are windows all over the place so you will never miss the view. We saw deers a few different times and even woke up to them right outside the house. Loved it!
Beautiful weekend getaway!
The house was nothing short of gorgeous! Had a perfect view from every single room. We cozied up by the fire and gazed at the foliage while we waited to see wildlife. The kitchen was so awesome to cook in on the Viking stove. The views of the stars at night was cosmic! We saw 5-6 shooting stars in the matter of an hour- something you don’t see in the suburbs. The bedroom was very luxurious as well! So many nice touches- from the nice bath washes to shampoos and soaps- was better than any 5 star hotel we could have stayed at. The view of the water gap was unreal. We are looking forward to coming in the warmer weather and enjoying the outdoors!
Thank you for your wonderful comments about our home. I am so glad you were persistent and we were able to get to the root of the hot water/heat issue. I worried that you would have a good stay after starting off with such drama on our part.
You and your husband were wonderful guest and I look forward to seeing you when it warms up.
