Our camp is located in the foothills of the Adirondack State Park and situated along the banks of the West Canada Creek. Enjoy DIRECT access to the creek for fishing, tubing, ect. We are minutes away to the annual Snow Bash events. A short drive to Hinkley, Kayuta, and Piseco lakes. Close access to snowmobile trails that extend across NYS. An hour or less to Speculator, Old Forge, Piseco. Restaurants/pub: Haskel's Inn (walking distance), The Ohio Tavern (2 miles). WiFi and streaming available.
A single-story house with three bedrooms, two living areas, an eat-in kitchen, and a bathroom with a shower and bathtub. There is an oil furnace for heating, and a wood stove for additional heat during the winter. A detached garage is large enough to store 2 boats/2 cars/8 snowmobiles / a lot of kayaks. Limited cell phone service. Landline available for local calls. Long distance and international calls can be made on your mobile phone via WiFi using VoIP apps.
We are located close to the intersections of Herkimer County Snowmobile Trails C4, C4H, C4B. Check the Ohio Ridge Riders website for up to date conditions of trails and trail maps of the area. Enjoy direct access to the West Canada Creek from our property. There is a fire pit available for use in the backyard. Firewood is free of charge. WiFi included. Internet speed is typically between 7-12 Mbps. You can watch local channels with antenna on TV or stream your favorite shows with our Roku streaming device. (You will need your username and passwords for streaming channels such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Sling, HBOgo, ect).
Enjoy access to the entire house, the large garage and the grassed area to the rear of the house. Horseshoes (horseshoe pits in backyard). croquet, badminton, and gas grill located for use in the garage. 2 kayaks and a canoe are available for use, just let us know if you need to use them. We do not recommend using them in the creek behind the house as the river bed is very rocky and will cause damage. A beautiful paddle is only 15 minutes away (activities and attractions listed in our home manual or ask us for our recommendations for hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, skiing, ect).
The owners, Richard and Diane, will have the house ready for you upon your arrival. In the winter, we will have a warm crackling fire ready to greet you and to take off the winter chill. Please let us know an estimated time you expect to arrive so we can be sure everything is ready for you.
We live right in town - should you have an emergency or need anything, we are only a phone call away. We will be here to plow the driveway and have the walkways shoveled during your stay in the event of any good old fashioned Adirondack snowstorms which happen frequently in the North Country! Feel free to leave your vehicles in the garage especially in the winter. We also have plenty of space to park snowmobile trailers on the property or any other large equipment that you are traveling with.
We love this area and our camp, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions!
