Beautiful spot on Chautauqua Lake

  • 5 of 5

Close to Bemus Point (3miles) minutes up the road for all the local resturaants and centrally located. We loved the fishing , campfire, and view of the lake right from our cabin, and our own dock! Very relaxing . Beautiful sunsets at night. The owners are wonderful people and we would book again! Couldn't have had a nicer family reunion vacation! The cabin is like a mini house well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen, with nice living room, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, cable TV. Thank you for such a nice stay.

Great Vacation

  • 5 of 5

If you're looking for a great place for a vacation, this is the place to be. Located at lakeside, the sunrises and sunsets are serene and peaceful. The cottage is well furnished and offers much more than depicted on the web site.

Barb and Gary were most gracious and helpful in getting me settled in. I will surely consider a return visit in the future.

The spot was wonderful, the cabin not so much. Spent most of the day killing bugs that came through the terrible windows (full of spider webs & dirt). The grill was a tiny charcoal grill with no charcoal. The toilet was filled with rust, we tried to clean it with bleach, but it must have been like that for a long time, we couldn't get it clean. the picture is very deceiving it looks like flat ground, but there is a large hill you have to walk down & up to get to the cabin, very hard for 4 elderly ladies. The owner checked on us twice, not by the door but by peering unexpectedly though the window. The dock is supposed to be shared, but the owners had full control of it. Very bad water. There was a very small tv, no games or cards. Not what we are used to, this is our 12th year of doing our little ladies trip, & we were so disappointed.

Owner's Response: We have been renting this cottage for over thirty years. Several same families have been renting it for over twenty years. This group of women has high expectations. This is a cottage, not a resort. Yes, there are bugs and spiders (we have it sprayed regularly). We take great pride in informing our guests of the cottage rules, routines and instructions. We do not peer into windows, and since we are on the property, we are available for any problems. The dock is shared and on weekends it is busy with everyone using it. The tap water is checked regularly for purity by the health department. There is iron in the water that discolors the inside of the toilet holding tank. Our cottage is clean, neat, and in a spectacular location. We are sorry the ladies expected more. Our modest rent reflect the lack of amenities which we fully disclose.

Had a great time at the lake. Cottage is cute nothing fancy but perfect for a family get away. Fishing was alot of fun with plenty caught. The fire pit was nice for roasting marshmallows felt alot like a camping trip.
