- english, italian, Croatian
I am Marialuisa's, the owner, daughter in law. Marialuisa was born in Milan. After studying architecture and living abroad for seven years, she decided to move to Venice, where she have been living for the next 35 years.
Kristina purchased this Apartment in 1978
Why Kristina chose Cannaregio
Buying this apartment was a choice of life: Marialuisa wanted to grow her son in a wonderful city, free of pollution. Now that she is retired, she decided to offer this opportunity to everybody who loves Venice.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment has a great view over one of the most beautiful 'campi' (squares) in Venice, Campo del Ghetto Novo. The neighbourhood is out of a typical tourist routes, it is well serviced and connected with the mainland and other parts of Venice and the islands in the Laguna.

Perfect headquarters to explore Venice!
We were met at the water bus station by the lovely Lionella and made a short 2 minute walk to the flat. Lionella was VERY helpful by orienting us with a map of Venice. The apartment felt like home right away. We were serenaded by church bells and the sounds of families playing in the square. The large windows provided a nice breeze throughout the flat. The restaurant on the opposite side of the square was a great place to people watch, and, of course, the rest of Venice was magical! It was also entertaining to watch produce deliveries in the canal outside the kitchen window.
The walk to Saint Marks Square is doable with comfortable shoes, and the water bus is always an option. We felt VERY safe all over Venice, even in the many, many, many alleyways. There are also restaurants galore all around the flat and all of Venice. I would definitely stay here or somewhere in this area again!
Great apartment in a convenient area of Venice.
The lady who met us gave us tons of information on how to get around and restaurants to go to. The apartment was great even if we had to walk up 3 flights to get there! Be sure to check out Dave's store across the square. Great bargains.
The perfect homebase for visiting Venice
My husband and I, with two friends, spent four days here in September 2017. It was the perfect place to catch our breath after two busy weeks in Italy, and ideal for getting out and seeing the Venice highlights. The apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated, and well-stocked with everything four adults could need. As pictured in the ads, its comfortably furnished, spacious, and has lovely views out both front and back windows. We did not stay home all the time though we easily could have because the neighbourhood is also great. Its an easy walk to the Santa Lucia train station, a number of waterbus stops, and lots of restaurants, shops, and important sites; there's even a gondola stop just outside the door. Perhaps most importantly, though, its a quiet, family-oriented neighbourhood away from the tourist throngs you find elsewhere in Venice yet with easy access to all the sites. We felt very safe and comfortable there and enjoyed many hours out on the piazza or in street-side (canal-side) restaurants nearby. We would recommend this spot to friends and family without hesitation.

Very homey apartment in a great location
This apartment was a fine oasis in the city, a well equipped and comfortable place to relax between bouts of exploration. It was nice to be in a quieter neighborhood that also felt like a genuine vibrant community. We were very well treated and informed by the property manager and the owner as to what to do in the neighborhood and beyond.
Amazing experience for our family.
Get away from the tourist side of Venice. This apartment has it all. Well stocked kitchen. Cozy quarters. The campo in front is a great place to relax and enjoy the heart of Venice.
Wonderful stay, great location.
The apartment is in the center of a venetian Jewish ghetto, overlooking the main square, Campo Novo del Ghetto. In the walking distance there is a Venice Casino and the Canal Grande. The neighbourhood has a lot of art galleries, typical venetian trattorias and bars. The churches of S. Alvise, Madonna dell'Orto, San Marcuola and S. Geremia are all 5 min walking distance. The nearest fresh fruit market is a colourfull Mercato in Terà San Leonardo, few minutes from the house.
