Excellent family holiday!!
My stay in Javea at the villa was fantastic.
The kids could run around the huge garden which is totally enclosed.
We loved the outside kitchen with its bbq facilities by the pool , which we spent most of our holiday to be honest.
Great lounge area inside and big TV for the kids in the morning with a massive selection of films and yes sport for my husband.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definately be going again , hopefully soon.
Fantastic Relaxing Holiday
We stayed in this villa in both 2011 and 2012. Unfortunately it was booked when we wanted it in 2013.
The villa is very spacious and has everything you would need. We are a family of 5 with 3 small children so we spent the majority of our time at the villa. The outside kitchen was fantastic and allowed us to BBQ in the evening once the children had gone to bed. We had all of the utensils we needed for cooking proper meals unlike a lot of villas which only have the basics. Washing machine is a very welcome addition so you can travel light!
There is plenty of room for the kids to run around and we felt safe knowing that the there was a gate and they were enclosed. Also plenty of room to get out of the sunshine if you wanted to.
There is a supermarket less than 5 minutes drive away which had a good selection. The beach and port also a short drive away with lots of nice eateries.
Ideal for a peaceful and relaxing holiday... if that's possible for 3 kids!!
A house with a great view
I celebrate my 65 birthday with my whole family.
The house was great and the view wonderful.
We visited Xabia, Valencia and Alicante. Great cities to vised and dining lovely spanish food.
Javea is the playground of the wealthy Spanish from Madrid and Valencia, situated on the Mediterranean coast, some 70 miles south of Valencia (55 miles north of Alicante), Javea nestles between two headlands – Cabo de la Nao and Cabo San Antonio – in a fertile valley of orange groves, olive and almond trees. The climate here is one of the best in Spain with average temperatures of 58°F in winter and 80°F in summer. Mount Montgo, rising an impressive 2000 feet above sea level, protects the valley from the north winds. Javea boasts beautiful coastlines, spectacular mountains and relatively unspoiled and quiet ambiance. Javea is divided into three main areas; Main Beach (Arenal) - most tourists head to the sheltered, sandy El Arenal beach with palm trees in the sand, coconut shades and sun beds for hire. You can relax or have a go at some water sports; windsurfing and scuba diving are popular. Volleyball is also played on the beach. A floating platform is placed just off the beach line in the summer which is great to swim out to and dive. Pedalos and canoes are also available for hire. There are also various parks and climbing frames in the sand jotted along the beach for the younger children. It’s great to sit in a bar and watch them play! In the evening the promenade comes alive with craft stalls lining the edges of the promenade, adding to the bustle from the many bars and restaurants. It is a great for a night out as there is live entertainment in many of the bars. A small fairground for the younger children is set back from the beach, approximately a ten minute walk. In the fairground there is also a trampoline park. South of the Arenal beach you will find three beautiful bays, La Caleta which is a picturesque sandstone rugged beach and a short drive away you will find the beaches of Portixol and Granadella, set in wonderful scenery. Both have beach bars/restaurants and the one at Granadella in particular servers a great Paella which needs to be ordered the day before.
Javea Old town (Pueblo) is brimming with history and culture, with narrow streets, Gothic architecture and a genuine Spanish atmosphere. Many of the ancient buildings are made from the local Tosca sandstone. These include the 12th-century church of San Bartolome, the town’s historical heart. There’s also a big market offering fruit, vegetables, clothes and souvenirs on Thursdays, held in the Plaza de la Constitucion. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants all serving local Spanish food.
Javea Port (Puerto) is a working port. Fishing boats sit alongside luxury yachts, which can be seen from the waterfront cafes and bars that line the beautiful walkway. The Port area has a Marina and a working harbour where you can watch the local fishermen bring in the catch of the day. Why not try many of their products in the excellent local fish restaurants around the harbour. In July, the port hosts the popular Moors and Christians Fiesta (Moros and Christianos). There is a church (Nuestra Senora de Loreto) here too, but very different to that of the old town. This simple building has an ornate interior and a ceiling that, from the inside, looks like a ship’s hull.
Nearby Areas of Interest & Tourist Attractions: The Villa is conveniently situated and is less than one hour’s drive away by car from Benidorm which has many attractions for all ages including 'Mundomar' an Animal Water Park, 'Aqualandia' a themed Swimming Park and 'Terra Mitica' a large Fun Park boasting some of the largest rides in Europe. Bendidorm old town is also full of tapas bars and atmosphere. The beautiful historic village of Guadalest set in the mountains is a place not to be missed by the visitor along with the 'Waterfalls of Algar', other nearby towns include Moraira, Calpe, Benissa, Teulada and Denia.
The Costa Blanca has more than 13 golf courses. There are two courses in Javea, and several excellent courses within half an hour’s drive. Javea Golf Club is a full length 9 hole course, popular with locals and tourists and it can be seen from the villa. The course has gently sloping wide, open fairways. Facilities at the Club Facilities at the Club include a practice green, driving range, tennis and squash courts and a club house with two bars, a restaurant, changing rooms and caddy area. The club provides lessons, and does not book tee times more than one day in advance, or you can book on the day from 10am. Other nearby clubs also includes Club de Golf Ifach Moraira also with 9 Holes. Approximately 12 km away is the larger Club de Golf La Sella in Denia with 18 Holes. This course lies next to Montgo Natural Park, surrounded by wonderful Mediterranean woodland. The course design makes it possible for all levels of player. Rentals and lessons are available and it is recommended to book lessons and tee times well ahead. The club has a driving range and putting green and a further 10 km is the Seve Ballesteros Club de Golf Oliva again with 18 Holes
