La Casita is a one-bedroom home located on Route 5 in Westfield NY minutes from the NYS Thruway Exit 60. This getaway sits on an acre of land, mostly wooded. For years it served as my studio, a tucked away piece of heaven where I wrote, painted, and watched the seasons change - migrating birds in spring, fireflies on warm summer nights, visiting deer in the fall, and the resilient, winter-loving cardinals year round. La Casita is a cozy (600 square feet) open concept home with vaulted ceilings and multiple exposures. A separate bedroom with a double bed is off the great room. The living room has a seating area plus space for two twin beds. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, fridge, microwave, ice maker, toaster, coffeemaker. A large countertop serves as an eating/work area. A washer and dryer is in the bathroom. There is a shower, no tub. The porch off the living room is a great place to enjoy a cup of coffee and view of the woods. There is ample parking and a space for a boat/trailer. Amenities are close by. Barcelona beach/harbor, Chautauqua Creek, restaurants are a short walk away. More restaurants, wineries, breweries, hiking trails, farmers' and artisans' market (Amish goodies and more), library, arts center, museums, galleries, antique and specialty shops (i.e. Portage Pie; Mrs Plum's Art Emporium) are within biking distance. A bit farther there's the Chautauqua Institution and Lily Dale Assembly. Westfield has a grocery store, hospital and churches of many denominations. PLEASE NOTE: There is no beach access from this property. A public beach (Barcelona) is a half mile away, an easy walk, cycle, drive.

Everything we could have ever wanted
We just spent an extended weekend at this property and had an amazing time. There was literally no detail unattended to with a full kitchen complete with everything we needed to make an amazing evening meal, lovely yard which was a welcoming and peaceful escape from the day-to-day and lots of included activities and amenities to allow us to actually vacation! Add in that the location is perfect for the visitors who want to visit the local towns, walk over to the Lake Erie docks or hop on the highway to head over to Erie and this becomes the perfect reminder of what summer vacation was as a kid. The only disappointment we had is that we couldn't stay longer.
So glad you enjoyed visiting our beautiful area. Westfield is a remarkable place. I'm also glad you were pleased with the accommodations. Thanks so much for your thoughtful, generous review and know you are always welcome.
Cute little house in a great location!
This property was very cute and tidy. Full kitchen and washer/dryer. Fire pit and covered porch outside and a shed to store your bikes in. The house is within biking distance to several wineries. Public beach access is a short walk away from the house. The town of Westfield is very close also. Would definitely recommend to others
Thanks for visiting!
Great little cottage for a quick getaway!
This is a quaint little cottage. It is decorated very nicely inside. It is right on Route 5, just like it says in the description. With the fans on, the road noise was not an issue at all. We went for a one night getaway to see a show at The Chautauqua Institute, and it was perfect for that. It was me and my husband and son. The extra bed in the living room was all made up for him. Very nice that we were allowed to bring our small dog. She even had food bowls and poop bags set out for him! If you are looking for a small cottage I would stay here again. It was about a 20 minute drive to the Instutute.
Thanks so much for taking the time to review La Casita. I'm happy you enjoyed the accommodations. I also have dogs and know how difficult it is for them to be separated from the family. And the family from them. Woof. ;)
The storm past though our area and knocked out the WiFi and television. The house was clean and orga
It was a very nice cottage.
Thanks for staying at La Casita. Come again!
A really cute property Everything was clean and comfortable
The only thing was it was close to rt 5 so could hear the traffic. The little porch was terrific and where I spent most of my time when there. May want to supply Off as the pesky flies were out at the time of my visit. Other than that it was a cozy get away
The traffic noise was something I must have gotten used to after six years of living there. It's important that travelers be aware of this. Yes...and the bug spray. I'll provide some. Come again and thanks for your thoughtful review!
