East Ledge Cottage in Georgetown is a beautiful property with stunning water views from nearly every window. This cottage sits in-between Sheepscot Bay and Gott’s Cove. East Ledge is a great place to bring your family/friends and enjoy a fun filled vacation. You can sit on the deck and enjoy the sounds of the water, watch the lobster boats, bring kayaks and venture out or just enjoy the views; seals, loons, Great Blue, Ospreys, porpoises, ducks and more. At night you can gather around the fire pit chat and make s‘mores. You can walk to Five Island Lobster Co. where you can get an amazing seafood meal (they have regular food as well), visit the Ice Cream Building, you would love the Five Island Farm that is 0.4miles away; they have a Garden & Gourmet Market, Reid State Park is 0.7miles, if you like hiking Gregory Hiking Trail is 3.4 miles, Bath is 13.6 miles, Brunswick 21.7 miles and Portland is 47.2 miles. There is plenty to do swimming, hiking, biking, kayaking, plenty of restaurants, lighthouses, activities and sightseeing.

Great place to vacation!
The house was clean and welcoming. Had many choices of kitchen utensil and serving dishes. Very Charming location. Great view of cove. love the rocking chairs in front of the glass doors! Carol and Rich were very accommodating and took very good care of us!
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed this property. Thank you for the nice review and we hope to see you again.
Beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable with unforgettable views
We had a wonderful week staying at East Ledge. The house is extremely comfortable, and the location can't be beat! Water on both sides of the house meant gorgeous views in every direction, and incredible sunsets and moon rises. We had coffee on the deck, saw what we think was the same heron almost every day, and roasted s'mores by the fire at night. Our only regret was the lack of a dock made it difficult to put in our canoe, but that would not prevent us from returning to this lovely house in the future.
Truly, a retreat away from it all!
This wonderful home is the perfect place to retreat to if you are looking to remove yourself from the stressors of life and just relax into being. The house has been beautifully remodeled and has everything you need to make your stay feel like a like a second home. The surroundings are peaceful, tranquil, and serene. The only sounds you will hear are birds ( osprey, gulls, kingfisher, and eagles), and the lumbering sound of the lobster boats as they collect from their traps and bring them to the nearby pound. We also saw porpoise, loons, and seals while sitting on the outside deck. There is plenty to do if you venture out and lots of good restaurants only a short drive away.
We had all the privacy we were looking for, even though our delightful hosts Carol and Rich were close by if we needed anything. We fell in love with Five Islands and are grateful that for us, it is only a few hours away from home. Without a doubt we will return again and again.
We are extremely happy that you enjoyed your little getaway. Thank you for the wonderful review and we hope to see you next year!
Exceptional cottage on Maine coast
My family of 5 felt as if we were staying at a home and not a cottage. The location is phenomenal with so many coastal activities close by from kayaking right from the property, Reid State Park (a family favorite), hiking nearby Nature Conservancy trails, or just simply watching the rise and fall of the ocean and the lobster boats coming and going. Enjoyed momma deer and two babies frequenting the cottage grounds! Would stay here again (thinking 2 weeks in the future); the cottage is well stocked with everything needed to cook meals, linens for an entire week's stay, and exceptionally clean.
Thank you for the fantastic review. We are excited that you and your family had a wonderful time at the cottage and enjoyed it as much as the owners do. We would love to have you come back and visit for 1 week, 2 weeks or even 3 weeks, whatever your schedule allows. Nice to hear that you had some visitors, the wildlife is amazing there. Thank you for choosing East Ledge Cottage.
A Great Maine Experience
Great location with excellent water views. We watched the sun rise and lobster boat traffic with great interest. The house is very nicely furnished and well-equipped with everything you'll need to enjoy your visit. It felt like it was a family's well-cared-for summer house and we got to stay there for a week. There was none of the "good enough for the renters" mentality demonstrated by the people who thoughtfully prepared this house for rent. We saw a shooting star from the deck and had many private, peaceful hours. The location is close to Reid State Park, further down on Georgetown Island, approx. 30 minutes from Bath. You can reach Popham Beach as well in about 50 minutes. (The owners provide the seasonal pass to both parks/beaches, which is a thoughtful gesture that saves you money.) We will definitely consider staying here again. The one thing which keeps this from being a "perfect" place is that there was a nearby house with residents playing loud music at random times - on a quiet Wednesday afternoon, for example, blasts of classic (bad) 70's and 80's rock. Someone - either real estate company, or group of neighbors needs to deal with the "frat house" mentality of the residents of this neighboring house. Otherwise, this is truly a great Maine experience. This house can be a good fit for two adult couples and two children -- we were just two adults so we did not use the upstairs (2 bedrooms and full bath with shower) at all. Visit Reid State Park's lagoon area and check the tide schedules to get the most benefit from Popham. Each is a real beach experience complete with sand and gulls and shells to collect. Also, when in Bath, make time for the Maritime Museum and be sure to get a pizza and garlic "dough-knots" at The Cabin, on Washington Street, which is Route 209 the way to/ from Popham Beach. The Montsweag Flea Market (active on multiple days) is within an easy, mostly scenic 40-minute drive. It was truly a treat to have a week in early August at this place. At the end of our week, we were quite sad to leave this special place.
We are glad you had a great time at the cottage and was also able to venture out and really take in all that Maine has to offer. We are sorry about the loud music, thank you for bringing that to our attention. We enjoyed having you at the cottage and we hope you will stay here again. Thank you for the fantastic review.
Perfect location. Wonderful house.
Everything we needed was provided. Our stay was perfection from the moment we arrived. The problem now is we don’t want to leave! Would come back in a heartbeat.
Thank you for the review! We would love to have you stay at the cottage next year.
