About The Owner

We purchased the Treehouse in May 2008, and it is everything we could ask for! We wanted a place on the lake that was quiet, secluded and yet still very convenient. We found all of those things here. The covered slip and ramp at the bottom of the hill make it so nice when we visit...we just put our boat in the water and it stays there until we leave. No long drives or putting in and out every day.

After a full day of boating we love to come back and crawl in the hot tub and relax while we listen to the outdoor speakers play our favorite Sonic Radio station.

This is our dream home and we hope you love it as much as we do!!

Thanks for looking!

Nice place to stay close to Whitman Marina

  • 4 of 5

House was well equipped and comfortable. Clean and well kept. Working hot tub. Short drive up the hill from Whitman Marina. Rent a slip from Whitman, park the trailer at the boat ramp with a ball lock, and enjoy. It's a pretty easy drive from 75, less than 25 minutes.

Very Nice Home

  • 4 of 5

The house was very nice, well equipped. 2 items someone needs to be aware of: first it is hard to turn a car around in the driveway. I drive a Ford F150 and you had to go forward and backward about 4 times to get it turned around. Secondly, the house is in a dead zone for Verizon and Verizon is the best carrier at Norris Lake. Tried to call someone on the house the house phone and we needed a calling card which I don't have. I had to get in the truck and drive to the top of the hill to make a phone call.

Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Unfortunately, there is not enough room to place a full turn-around, circular driveway on the side of the hill where our home is located. I realize reversing down the hill can be frightening, but we just do not have room for a cul-de-sac. The home phone is clearly labeled for local calls only. I apologize for any confusion. As for Verizon's are obviously familiar with the lack of cell coverage throughout the Norris basin. Verizon is the best, but still sporadic all over. I wish they would put a tower closer. Texts get through better than phone calls. The best results are found by placing calls or texts from the loft or on the deck near the driveway. In order to avoid this confusion in the future, I have updated the welcome letter to include the home phone number so that guests can allow for people to contact them in case of emergency. Thank you again for choosing to stay with us!

Great time!

  • 4 of 5

We had an amazing time! Accommodations were exactly what we needed and Whitman hollow was super close! The outside deck could use some work but that was our only complaint. Will definitely come again. Thanks for sharing your awesome lake house with our family:)

Beautiful clean well maintained home nestled in the trees!

  • 5 of 5

The treehouse is a very well maintained, clean and quiet home. It is easy to get to and only a few minutes drive time to the marina. The decks are literally in the trees and it makes it feel just like you are in a treehouse while you're out enjoying the hot tub, grilling or just sitting outside enjoying the serenity. All the bedrooms, bathrooms and amenities are top notch, well maintained and very clean. The foosball table in the lower level is really cool-the kids really enjoyed playing it! There is also plenty of cookware, flatware and food storage for those that want to make dinner at the house. The only thing that would have made it better is if there was the ability to have WiFi.

I would highly recommend the Treehouse to anyone that wants to get away and unplug from the world for a while. It's a clean and peaceful place to get away and escape reality and enjoy the most beautiful water in the world on Norris Lake.

Norris Lake Review

  • 3 of 5

The house was a diamond in the rough. Very Nice. Although, we found a ton of spiders in the basement, I wonder if the basement had been sprayed? Peaceful at night. There wasn't any wifi at the house and I didn't have service on the lake. (Which would of been a plus to have) Also, by the pictures we thought the owners may of had a boat slip for us to dock a boat. Wasn't under the impression that we had to reserve one. Luckily Whitman Hollow had one available that weekend. The house did give a home like feeling. Very well kept. Would of been nice to have TV's in every room and a bigger one in the living room. Driveway was a bit rough pulling in and out of. Also, be careful of the appliances. We used the toaster and the cord was burnt. :/ If we would of used it, more then likely would of started a fire. The appliances could def be updated. Overall a good stay.

Owner's Response: Kristen, I am sorry your stay was less than perfect. We want everyone to be completely happy. The basement, and entire home, for that matter, is on a regular schedule for pest control. Unfortunately, when your home is in the woods, sometimes spiders get in. The boat slip policy has been clearly stated to all renters this season. Insurance policies have prohibited us from providing a slip to our guests. Therefore, all guests must lease one from the marina. For that, we reimburse the cost of the rental. This has been made clear to all guests. My apologies if there was some confusion. The toaster issue must have just occurred. We will get a new one. Obviously, we do not want our home to burn down and would not knowingly place a fire hazard out for use by anyone. WiFi and cell service are beyond our control. We call AT&T every 4 months to see if service has arrived and it has not. There are a few areas of the lake where cell service is available; we just enjoy a boat ride to find them. The TVs, or lack of them, are equally liked and missed by guests. Some people enjoy the solace and tranquility of being "unplugged" for few days of relaxation in nature. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, we hope you enjoyed your stay.
