About Brian Peterson
In 2011 we purchased, upgraded and remodeled The Hassler House. In 2012 we moved to the Central Valley for work where Brian is in the agriculture packaging industry and his wife is a high school teacher. We have 3 grown children. We love the outdoors and our Hassler home is a special place to us and our family.

Why Brian Peterson chose Placerville
Hello! The Hassler House has been in our family since it was originally built in 1977 by Dub and Mona Kramer. It was built on the property that they had enjoyed since the early 60's. Since then four generations of Kramers and Petersons have enjoyed wonderful times together and built fond memories here. We are excited to be able to share this wonderful place with you.

Excellent house - Excellent Location
Loved it here.
Loved staying at the Hassler House! The location was perfect for us and the house had all that we needed. Brian was an incredible host. While we were there the power company shut off the power to the region in order to reduce the risk of wildfires due to high wind. This obviously was not something we planned for, nor did we know that such things were possible in California. Brian let us know in advance that it was coming, but none of us, including Brian, knew how long it would last. There were no flashlights in the house, so we made due with our cell phones until we could get flashlights, which Brian offered to pay for. We ended up buying a cheap cooler in order to preserve the food in the fridge that we had purchased. Brian stayed in contact with us and we felt safe while in the home, but needed to rely on our cell phones to fully comprehend what was happening. While there is a TV, we couldn't get local channels or cable channels. We took the opportunity to drive to South Lake Tahoe since we had no power, so it worked out fine. We don't watch TV much, but since we are from Wisconsin and the Packers and Brewers were playing in California, we needed to find a local place open during the power outage to check out the games.
There was a horse out back that belonged to the adjacent property. We visited him daily and went for walks on the quiet road each morning. The wineries and apple orchards are all very close. We had Great Horned Owls calling everyday, so we recommend listening carefully if you enjoy owls!
The beds are very firm, so keep that in mind. We struggled to sleep until we were used to them. The rooms are very quiet, so if you have trouble sleeping without some sort of white noise, there is a sound machine in the downstairs room. Overall, we loved the house and would stay again. Thanks to Brian for offering to pay for the flashlights and cooler since neither of them were on hand for an emergency. I think it was a learning experience for all.
Great location and even better vacation home
We had a great time staying mid-week at the Hassler House. Comfortable, quiet and clean, this home combines a 'cabin' atmosphere with modern upgrades. Perfect location for wine tasting, exploring Apple Hill or heading into Placerville (just a short drive) for boutique or antique shopping and restaurants. Highly recommend.
Very comfortable... great surroundings... easy access to all of our outings. Thank you
Sweet cabin in great setting
Wonderful, well equipped and clean cabin in the middle of the Sierra Nevada Foothills wine country. Despite the summer temperatures, the ac was excellent. Quiet countryside setting. Spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the mornings. A#1.
Cute, clean, great location
Had a great time with our three grandsons. Very comfortable mountain home.
