Great for family gathering
Clean, great neighborhood! Plenty of parking...this VRBO is a wonderful way to enjoy the real Chicago!
Alan did a great job with his property , it was nice and clean thanks so much .
EXTREMELY clean! The only thing we didn't like was that there were no wash cloths or kleenex. More mirrors needed. One in each bedroom would have been nice. The beds were very comfortable. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Worked out great for 6 women staying together. Beautifully updated bathrooms & kitchen.
Nice Unit, Not Good Neighborhood
The Good - Property Manager was very accommodating, responsive and easy to contact. The unit was nicely decorated, clean and well stocked with towels and things you would see at a hotel. Kitchen had everything you needed to cook which was greatly appreciated. All appliances worked well with no problems. Quiet neighbors and a quick Uber Ride to McCormick Place.
The Not So Good - Parking was very bad unless you were coming in during the day. Had to park on the main street several times during our stay. The railing needs attention in stairs and you need to be prepared for a bit of a hike up to the unit (big suitcase not good). The worse part was the neighborhood. I can't really blame the property owner, but if you are not familiar with Chicago (as I was not), this is not a good place if you want to be able to walk to restaurants or shopping. Hyde Park might be the "best" South Chicago neighborhood, but come to find out, that is not saying much.
If all you need is a comfortable place with quick access to McCormick Place, University or Hospital and you do not plan to go out, this is a good property. If you want to be able to park, walk to get food or grab a drink, this is not the place.
Quick trip to Chicago
The house was clean. Kitchen and bathrooms were updated. Everything was in working order. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Hyde Park area was really cute.
Clean spacious rental
Well stocked, clean. Had a great time
Hyde Park, famously home to former President Obama and the University of Chicago, is one of the most diverse and historic neighborhoods in Chicago – it rests on Lake Michigan and is bordered on the west and south by two of Chicago's largest public parks, all of which offer the area’s best walks and picnic places. You’ll love the neighborhood’s jaw-dropping architecture, tree-lined streets and plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, coffee bars, shopping and things to do in general, and a short Uber, bus or train ride from downtown Chicago and McCormick Place. Hyde Park has an artsy, hip vibe, a diverse mix of people and more Nobel Prizes per square kilometer than any other neighborhood on earth. It is residential and urban at once and gives you the best of both worlds.
