Adorable, one-of-a-kind mountain cabin in a quiet, mountaintop neighborhood at 8900'. Sip your morning coffee from the front porch while watching the dawn's light hit Mt. Thorodin. Beautiful views of the Continental Divide enjoyed on the property and throughout the neighborhood. Perfect location to easily access both city excitement and mountain adventures.
You will be staying in a beautiful and artistically renovated cabin, using local and organic materials whenever possible. Experience true Rocky Mountain charm in a 1400 sq ft home that's cozy and romantic. Decorated in Bohemian style with a very unique custom design inspired by the natural surroundings of our alpine neighborhood. This beautiful cabin has been chosen as the location for a movie, commercial, wedding, and multiple honeymoons! It is currently a gallery displaying gorgeous paintings by a talented and local canyon artist.
Enjoy the view while seated behind the grand piano or strumming one of the guitars, soaking in the fantastic acoustics of the room. Wood burning stove adds to the ambiance with plenty of firewood stacked alongside the house. (There is a central heater with thermostat in the home.) Open the windows to enjoy natural air conditioning provided by the cool and dry mountaintop breeze, with temperatures often much cooler than the lower elevation of Denver. AT&T cell service and unlimited wifi, which is rare in the mountains. Smart TV with XBox, DVD player, and plenty of DVDs. There is a trampoline available for even higher altitude, as well as an axe if you feel inclined to chop your own firewood. Propane grill on the front deck. Plenty of books, toys, and board games available.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking and baking, including a double oven with natural gas stove top, a toaster, microwave, and professional strength blender. A French press, coffee grinder, and drip coffeemaker are all available. We provide local and organic coffee beans from the canyon's coffee shop. Electric hot water kettle with an assortment of teas, including local Celestial Seasonings (my personal fave!) from Boulder, and hot chocolate mix. Breakfast items include eggs, yogurt, granola, pancake mix, and frozen fruit for smoothies. Salt and pepper, olive oil, butter, and many condiments are provided.
The cabin includes three cozy and clean bedrooms, with every bed made up using hotel quality linens. Comfortable mattresses, plush comforters with duvets, and two pillows per person will ensure that everyone sleeps deeply throughout the dark and quiet mountain nights. Dressers and plenty of hangers will give you a place to unpack your suitcase and truly make yourself at home. Blackout shades and extra blankets are in each bedroom. A fan and nightlight are also provided for your comfort. There is a Pack-N-Play available for guests with little ones.
The bathroom is well-lit with a large window and plenty of ceiling lights. The dimmer switch softens the mood as you refresh under dual shower heads in the tiled, walk-in shower. Completely relax under the rain shower head after a day exploring the mountains. Your feet will stay warm due to the Radiant in-floor heating as you dry off with plenty of plump, hotel quality towels. Toiletries, a first aid kit, and a hair dryer are located under the sink.
Perched between Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests. On a quiet dirt road maintained by the county, accessible with a 2-wheel drive in all but the worst snowstorms. Just down the road from Golden Gate Canyon State Park and Gross Dam Reservoir. Ski at Eldora Resort or explore the fun and interesting mountain town of Nederland, only 15 miles away. World famous rock climbing in Eldorado Springs located 25 minutes away. Only 30 minutes to Boulder and Golden! Drive 27 miles and watch a concert at the renown Red Rocks Amphitheater, 40 minutes away. Unwind in the historic mountain casino towns of Black Hawk and Central City, only 45 minutes away. Take a gorgeous drive through Coal Creek Canyon and connect to the Scenic Peak to Peak Highway 119, full of phenomenal views around every bend. Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, is less than an hour and a half away. Only 45 minutes to west Denver, and an hour to Denver International Airport. It's just far and high enough in the mountains (8900 feet) to have a truly alpine feel to it, yet close enough to conduct business in the city when needed.
There is a tiny house on the property that we are frequently staying in. Feel free to say hello!
