About Bonnie Gibons
After creating and owning a world class kayaking company for 13 years in Oregon, we decided to start a new chapter in our lives and move to New Mexico (The Land of Enchantment)!
Bonnie Gibons purchased this House in 2012
Why Bonnie Gibons chose Los Cerrillos
The first time we came into the old cowboy village of Cerrillos, we were in love with the history and the look of this unique place. As we learned more of the history of this area, we knew this was the place for us. Ancient turquoise mines across the road from the property that are still worked.
What makes this House unique
The views from this property are extraordinary. Whether it be sunrise, sunset or the "Golden Hour". Raven House is within walking or driving distance of the village of Cerrillos. There you will find the Back Bird Saloon with great food and spirits. Cerrillos Station has a little store, art gallery, gift shop, salon and yoga. Across the arroyo from Raven House you will see Broken Saddle Riding Company where you can make a reservation for a tour of Cerrillos Hills State park on horseback. The old mining town of Madrid is 3 miles south of Raven House with food and shopping. Santa Fe Plaza is 20 miles north of Raven House!

Great, fun, different kind of rental you must try!!
My wife and I are frequent VRBO renters. We like to try different types of units, and when we found the Raven House (tipi), we had to try it. The location for our travels was perfect, right between Albuquerque and San Fe. We rented for one night, which also was almost a full moon which made the experience even better. The temps that night were around 45, but we had plenty of blankets, never got cold. The restroom and shower are about 70 steps down a path from the tipi, but well designed and functional. There is a small shelter with table and grille, we used to sit and have wine, cheese etc. for our dinner. The owners warn you there is no cell service, and they are correct! There is electrical power in the tipi for charging your phone, and for a lamp, plus a battery operated lantern & flashlight. You must spend some time with Steve and Bonnie, if you can. They are very interesting people with a story to tell. Our communications, directions, payment, check-in & check-out where all simple and smooth. If you like photography it can be a great place for some photos. This was a one time thing for us, but I would encourage anyone (two adults) who like to try the unusual or different, this should be a must for you.
Thanks so much Roscoe for booking Raven House for the night. We have met the nicest people staying at Raven House, you and your wife included. You are welcome back anytime!!!
Bonnie and Steve were wonderful hosts. The property was beautiful and they gave us great recommendations on restaurants and things to do in the area. The tipi was fun to stay in and has a perfect deck for stargazing or having breakfast in the morning. I would definitely stay here again!
Amie and her friend were wonderful guests. We are so fortunate to meet so many wonderful people that stay in Raven House! We invite everyone to come and enjoy Raven House and what our area has to offer!
