About Marko Ivic
I was born and raised in Venezuela, South America. I moved to Croatia in order to dedicate to Music and Music studies. I'm a pianist working with classical repertoire and also with improvisations, contemporary dance and live electronic performances. My dad is Croatian, and Croatia has since little been for me a second home. Having my family roots in Dalmatia has for sure made me appreciate this beautiful and unique place on earth and has given me the opportunity to relate to its cultural heritage and identity in a very personal and intimate way.
Marko Ivic purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Marko Ivic chose Split
Having a natural preference for charming places that not only allow you to live there but to get in touch with their own history, this Beautiful villa, once a theatre, has a history that goes back to 1881. The welcoming stone lions already give you the feeling of going back in time, and a hint of the glamour of the fin de siecle. The high ceilings, the spacious rooms and the incredible amounts of day light (which is why i put chose the name of Casa del Sol, or the 'sun's house', in my mother tongue) made me fell in love with this apartment since day 1. Apart from all that, the apartment has a special, very bright and positive atmosphere, which i believe gives anyone who wants the perfect setting to discover a new place a be seduced by its past.
What makes this Apartment unique
There are almost no buildings of this kind remaining in the city centre, and certainly even fewer with a beautiful private garden with an original palm tree dating back from the very construction of the building. Besides that, the sense of having this intimacy and at the same time be in the very centre of everything is in deed priceless! :)
100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
Family from Finland
We were in Casa del Sol one week in april
The apartment was very light and clean and had a good location only some hundred meters from downtown.
Shops and bus station were very near; you could easily go to Shopping Center One by bus number 12.
Extra was the parrot downstairs who was whistling all the time the tune of Bridge of the Kwai river!
We had a very nice holiday in Split and special thanks to our wonderful host Marko; unbeliaveble friendly and helpful guy.
I highly recommend this apartment and Split to All. Excellent!
Juha and his lovely family were my first guests this year, and they were a great start! They were friendly, very easy going and enthusiastic. It was very easy to communicate with them, they treated the apartment as if it was their home and everything was in order. I've nothing to say other than Juha and his family are the kind of guest anyone would like to host! I hope we'll meet again!
The famous Dicletian's Palace, which used to be the summer residence of the Roman emperor, is just 100m from the apartment. You can enjoy all the charms of this Unesco-protected city centre, and enjoy form delicious restaurants with Mediterranean cuisine and croatian wines. All the cultural activities and the sight sees are within walking distance, literately EVERYTHING split has to offer is next to the property. Explore the countryside, the mountains, the islands an many more interesting places just by half an hour drive or an hour of ferry.
