Why Peter Bachleor chose Freshwater
Rose and I were looking for a special place to call home after roaming the world for the last 30 years, living and working in Australia, Vietnam, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and Papua New Guinea. It was time to stop and live in our own house for a change. However, we did't want to loose contact with the travelling and expatriate communities which we enjoyed very much. Running a guest apartment and inviting people to stay seemed like a good way to stay in touch and earn a return on our investment. Cairns is also the 'Goldilocks' climate for us. Not too warm, not too cold, just right. This particular property located on the side of a rain-forest covered mountain in tropical north Queensland, is ideally suited to running guest accommodation as it has two separate apartments. The ground floor apartment has three bedrooms, living/dining/kitchen and bathroom. The upstairs apartment has two bedrooms, kitchen, dining, lounge and bathroom. A perfect combination for Rose and I plus guests. The outside pool, extensive deck area, and barmy evening climate cap off a perfect entertainment facility for all to enjoy. If you are interested in seeing the Great Barrier Reef, the Daintree Rain-forest, Atherton Tablelands or just want to enjoy some time out in a tropical paradise, this is the place.
